I have been on this Diet, like I said, for about 1 month. I have gained 13LBS. Currently now 163. I am 5'6" and I do want to get bigger (Muscle). I want to be about 175 Ripped. I seem to be gaining a more and more belly fat and Im worried that I wont be able to reverse this later. Does my Diet need to be changed?

you gained more than 4lb x wk?
Cut your calories.... Maybe you are overshooting...
I would guess 2,500 is more than enough, but if you gained that much pounds, then maybe even less....
Is there a chance you got a large increase in water weight?
Yeah, looking at your diet, sounds like a lot of salt.... almonds sometimes have a lot, and so are some tuna...
So if you all of a sudden increase your sodium, you are bound to first retain water... Combined with fat, it might explain why you gain so much weight.... Perhaps half of it is water... Well, maybe not half but you get the idea...Last edited by reefpicker; 02-13-2009 at 10:26 PM.

13 lbs in one month on only 2800 calories daily!! That doesn't seem right. For starters, it appears like you may be undershooting your intake somewhat. For instance, I don't see any supplements in your menu layout. Are you taking any and if so why aren't you counting them?
Also, I may be off because I'm in the US and you're in Canada, but 1 1/3 cup oatmeal over here is about 400 calories, not 250.
Just to layout the math on your weight gain, here goes. To gain 13 lbs of fat/muscle(not water), you would need to have a surplus of ~45,500 over a month. That divided by 30(for days in a month) has you at about a 1500 calorie surplus daily, and since you gained that weight taking in just 2800 calories, you would only be expending 1300 calories daily, which is highly improbable. Either something strange is going on here or your numbers are off.
It also could be that you aren't weighing yourself at the same time of day. It could be that when you started your diet you weighed yourself on an empty stomach and weighed in at 150. You could have gained 6-7 lbs, and then weighed yourself at the end of a day and your weight was skewed by the actual weight of the undigested food inside of you.
Wish I could help but this doesn't add up.

I have no idea how you gained 13 lbs in a month from eating only 2800 calories a day. I'm cutting (successfully) on 2500 cals per day right now, although I'm a bit heavier than you. Your diet looks pretty clean, I'm kinda at a loss. Maybe try using fitday, if you aren't already. Could be that your math is off?

Yeah true true! I will look into the time I weigh myself. There are no supplements on this diet because its a all food diet. I was taking 3 protein shakes a day and decided to cut it all out. That was a typo on the oatmeal im only taking 2/3 cup. The supplements I take are just an isolate after my workout, expand before and Anabolic Halo after. Hope that helpsThe road to success is long and windy, I'm just trying to not drive into the ditch.
