I was asked earlier on to make an AMA thread discussing the city I'm originally from, Reggio Calabria. I've spent a lot of time there and know a lot about everything pertaining to it. Obviously there are some questions that I can't answer without potentially getting myself into trouble, so please understand if I can't answer some questions in much detail. I will, however, attempt to answer your questions as thoroughly as possible, when possible.

My favourite pizza in Reggio has to be from "Ciroma", but "Spaccanapoli" is a strong contender. I know a few people by the name "Toni/Tony" which is short for Antonio or Antonino, the latter being more common in Reggio. Marie isn't common at all. Common female names in Reggio include: Francesca, Alessandra, Valeria and Giuseppina.

I went to New Jersey and took the "Sopranos Tour" where they take you to all the filming locations, including the Bada Bing which is a real strip club in Lodi, NJ called "Satin Dolls". One of the best experiences of my life. I even met Joseph Gannascoli, who played Vito Spatafore.

wow, lol, yeah they probably would have known who he was. The Italian counterparts to the American mob were always very clued up on how things worked in the US, they knew who everyone was.

Yeah, they were very common all the way up to the late '80s. A lot of children were killed in that time, when the ransom wasn't paid by their parents.

Basketball is pretty big in Italy, I wouldn't say second to Football, but it's up there. My uncle used to own the Reggio team, "La Viola", sponsored by Panasonic at the time.

I am neither Jewish nor religious at all. There is a strong Jewish community in Italy, especially in places like Rome and Trieste.

NYC and LA have always been huge "American Dream" type places for Italians. Though I have to say that (relatively) recent actions in American foreign policy have killed the dream a little for Italians.

My dad lives in Peru, where they have a lot of high-end designer factories, so I just get my stuff at factory prices from there. Peruvian cotton is also a billion times better than any Asian cotton.
