Do you think it's possible to keep a relationship with a girl when going in the Army? To me it seems its either one or the other. The army life or the average working life with a girl.

yes it is possible, its all about the girl. if she has morals and actually loves you, and wont cheat etc, then youll be fine. but most girls it would be hard to do. so basically, its all about the girlOriginally Posted by Woody72
about the reserves and national guard- IMO, itd be better to join Active right now then the reserves. because they are pulling people from reserves to go overseas. so it would be better to just join Active and sign up for 2-4 years and do that. only go reserves if you have a job that pays $200,000+ or if you are in some situation.
the difference between national guard and reserves is basically benefits and some other things. they both train 1 weekend a month, 2 weeks a year. thats as much as I know because I went active.

You have to train up for ranger school in ranger bat. You have to go to RIP (Ranger Indoctrination Program) for 4 weeks after Airborne school. If you make it through that, you get assigned to a ranger bat and you train up (possible deployments) until you're ready for ranger school. Once ranger school is completed, you can be put in a position of leadership.Originally Posted by poolshark472

we dont have DI's. We have Drill Sergeants. and we dont get stress cards. those are for other basics (fort jackson, fort sill etc)Originally Posted by fastdraw

how come when i'm approached by recruiters in a parking lot and i tell them no thanks i don't want their brochure they follow me and persist and keep drilling me with questions until i take the brochure to get them to shutup?
