Hello all,
I am starting my log for the Red Acid review starting next week. Most of my information is listed below and more about my diet and workouts can be found in the log on my signature. I will be moving my log completely to this thread when I start the Red Acid Review some time next week. I will go ahead an post starting pics that I took the other day. I may add one or two more in the next couple days when I get a chance to take them. Dont bust my chops on the posing and such, I am no body builder so I look kindof silly . I will post measurements and caliper readings at the very beginning of the cycle.
I would also like to thank PU12 and Tank from Controlled Labs for the chance to do this testing. Controlled Labs is new to me so I am really looking forward to trying this product.
Age:28
Sex:M
Height:5'8"
Weight:180
Bodytype:endo
Training experience: Lifted for the last 10 years. I have basically done the same workout split for the last 5-6 years with little change except in exercise and weight. I have basically done it to stay in decent shape but was not real intent on bb or keeping fat real low.
Current Training Schedule / Protocol:
Currently using a four day split: chest/tri, back/bi, shoulder/trap, legs. I do 4 exercises for major groups and 2 for minor. Usually stay in the 8-12 rep range, but sometimes switch it up a little. I have recently started lowering reps and increasing weight after reading the MAX-OT article. I dont strictly follow it, but use some of the ideas.
Cardio Schedule/Protocol :
3-4 times/ week after weights most time. Not set schedule, but do 15-40 minutes depending on type. I do HIIT and medium intensity depending on how I feel.
Current supplements:
Pro32 Multi, Thermalife CrE2, Mr T Green Tea Extract, Champion Nutrition Whey, Lean Body Protein bars
Current Diet:
Currently cutting with 40/40/20 split at 2400-2600 calories daily. Diet is your typical clean cutting diet...nothing exciting....chicken, tuna, lean beef, whey, WW bread and pita, green veggies(probably need more), oats, pb, little bit of fruit here and there.
I am not 100% strict on the foods day to day and change it up alot, but keep the macros and calories constant. I have a cheat meal or two planned per week where I eat whatever I want.
Short Term Goal:
8% BF at 168lbs
Long Term Goal:
10%bf at 175-180lbs maintenance. I am very small framed so 180 at 10% would be very big for me.
ANY and ALL Prescription / Non-Prescription / Recreational drugs:
Alcohol occasionally, allergy medicine daily.
Supplement history:
I have taken whey protein and protein bars off and on for 10 years. More often than not I have not been on any additional protein. I have also taken several different ephedra products for fat loss in the past. Most recently was 5 years ago on Metabolife. Since then I have not done much of anything. 3 months ago I started protein and creatine and one month later started with the clean diet for cutting

I was going to add a little more history and detail as requested by PT in another thread:
I have been lifting for over 10 years, but my diet has always been less than optimal. The interesting thing is that since I started a strict cutting diet I have also seen strength increases in the gym. Kindof like newbie gains or something. I have to think it is mainly do to taking more protein than I ever have in the past and also paying much more attention to pre workout nutrition. I will be showing the weights and reps used in my workouts so we can see if there is any change in my strength or workout intensity.
I will be taking RA after waking just before breakfast and pre workout. I will probably add the RA with my preworkout meal and then take my CrE2 with a cup of grape juice right before leaving for the gym just like I am doing now. On non workout days I will take it about 6 hours after my first dose. I dont want to take it too late since it has a possibility to make me not sleep well if I take it too late.My journal:

Thanks man.
I am also adding another note about my cutting progress. If you look at my signature you can see my weight has kindof been bouncing the last couple weeks and not dropping steadily like it had the two months before. Looking at the numbers, I have to think that my metabolism has adjusted a little bit and fat loss has slowed down. However, with this it also seems that I have gained a little bit of lean mass and also dropped a little fat. Caliper measurements have gone down a little bit, but I feel like it is slowing. I think that the Red Acid is going to hit just perfect since I think that I have somewhat plateaued with my current calorie intake. I have taken ff milk out of my protein shakes to get a couple hundred calorie deficit started again. I will weight and measure again just before starting the RA. It looks like it will be next week before I get it with the delay in shipping. That could actually cause an issue since I might be out of town for the week working. It could put me almost two weeks till starting, but I dont know for sure.My journal:

Well, for 2-1/2 months you've certainly come a long way! Congrats to you, I think you're on the right track with cutting down a few non-essential calories. The human body is a pretty amazing machine, it's always in self-preservation mode.... Just keep making incrimental changes and you should hit your goal in no time.
I'm just eager to see how RA helps you get there QUICKER!

Well, looks like it is time to start. I should get RA today in the mail, or tomorrow at the latest. It has been almost two weeks since I started this and a few things have changed so I will update as of today.
As mentioned I had kindof plateaued and was bouncing around 180-182 for a couple weeks even though caliper measurments were going down slightly. Last week I decided I need to cut a few calories and try to get back to loosing fat. What I did is cut milk out of my whey shakes and cut down to 1.5 scoops from 2 scoops whey on about half my shakes. For instance if I am going to eat an hour after my workout, I might only have 1-1.5 scoops whey instead of two. What I found is that fat lose seems to have started again.
I have added Dymatize Z-Force to my suppliments to give it a try. Since I cut calories a little more and RA will increase energy expenditure, I wanted to try to make sure and maintain LBM. I may add BCAA as well, but have not yet done it. I will just have to see how the progress goes.
This week I am down to 178-179 on the scale and BF% according to rustyiron.com is 13.98% using the three point test. I have been and will continue to use the three point since I cant do the 7 or 9 without help meausuring. I am not sure on where I am suppose to measure my thigh so I took two places since my legs are alot thicker at the top and I carry more fat there as well. My current measurements and caliper readings are as follows:
Chest - 42.5"
Arm at peak- 16.125"
Waist - 35.5"
Abdomen(at belly button) - 36.25"
Thigh - 6 inches above knee - 22.5"
- 9 inches above knee - 25"
(Three measurements taken)
Pectoral - 10,10,9
Abdominal- 19,20,19
Thigh - 18,18,18
I will be taking RA with my breakfast and mid day which will be preworkout some days. I work out at night sometimes, so I will not always be able to take RA pre workout, but will do so when I can without taking it at night.
I have attached pics as of this morning as well. I dont have a good sofware for resizing and putting them side by side with above pics, but there are small changes. You can see the change most in my arms and abdominal area. You might also notice I forgot to flex my legs on the double bi pic so it looks like I lost about 2 inches, but it is just the difference in my pitiful posing. I start putting up weekly pics if at all possible while on RA so we can compare the changes from using RA and before using RA.
My new goal is to get to 12% even on my BF by the end of the RA log. If my fat loss is accelerated using RA, it should be possible to drop 6-7lb of fat in one month. I have been dropping at about 5lb/month for 3 months so far. Of course since BF is getting lower if I can just keep up the 5lb pace I will be very happy becuase I was already starting to plateau.
We'll see how it goes......Last edited by turbos10; 11-08-2005 at 08:40 AM.

I only took two red acid tonight since I did not know how it would hit me and I had to sleep in 6 hours....
First Impression
I dont really feel much different.....which I like. I was not really doing anything other than sitting around visiting, but I was wide awake. I did not feel any jitters or antsy. I really like this because I am not a stim junky and really am not crazy about that feel, so Red Acid is great in that aspect already. I really did not feel any hotter than usual or sweat any more either.
I am a morning coffee drinker and have been taking green tea for months now, so I suspect the fact that I am used to those two may be one reason I did not feel much different. I will go ahead and take the full dose tomorrow and see what the change is. I suspect I may get more of an energy bump from that.
I will be taking it easy on the coffee in the morning and also discontinuing the use of my other green tea in the morning. I dont want to get too much of a good thing.
Will start diet and workout logs tomorrow.......My journal:

M1 - 60g oatmeal, 2 scoops whey, 1/2c ff milk, Red Acid, Pro32X
M2 - 1 slice ww bread, ~3 oz chicken salad
M3 - 2 slice ww bread, ~6oz chicken breast, lettuce, pickle
M4 - 60g oatmeal, 1/2 c ff milk.....30 minutes later - 1c grape juice, 1.5 scoop whey, CrE2, Red Acid, Z Force.
Workout:
Chins - BWx14, BW+25x8, 7
DB Rows - 100x8x3
VBar Cable Row - 15platesx8,7,7
Alt. DB Curl - 45x8,7,6
DB Hammer Curl on Preacher Bench - 30x8,8,7
Eliptical - 15 min. HIIT (90/30 sec intervals)
M5 - 1c grape juice, 1.5 scoops whey, CrE2
M6 - ~20 shrimp sauted in olive oil, ~1/4 cup pasta
M7 - 1/2 cup low fat cc, 1/2 cup carb sense yogurt, 1 tblspn nat. pb
Misc. Notes:
Todays workout was about the same as usual. I felt alert and had good energy, but it was not a whole lot different than usual. One thing that I noticed is that I felt a good bit more whipped during the HIIT. It was like the workout was much harder or like I was getting more of a workout. I also noticed that my heartrate was about 15BPM higher than usual which made sense because I felt like I was working harder. I also noticed that about an hour after my workout I got a bit of a cramp in my forearm like I used to get on Creatine Mono. I suspect I need to drink more water.
The Red Acid really did not make me feel much different through the day, but I was very alert and kindof aggressive feeling. I had a hell of a stressful day with alot of stuff happening, so my mood was not good because of that. It had nothing to do with Red Acid. Overall I like the feeling of Red Acid or more specifically the lack of differnce in the way I feel. It is great to take something that does not make me feel hopped up.
I have not had any of the negative effects listed by others. I really have not felt hot or sweaty. I have not felt dehydrated except for the cramping which I have not had in months since switching to CEE. I will start drinking more water and see if that does the trick. I also had no problem sleeping last night, and fell asleep in just a few minutes. Woke up before the alarm feeling very rested. I had no trouble eating and did not really notice alot of appetite change through the day. I eat often enough I usually dont get very hungry in between meals.
So far so good.....more later.....Last edited by turbos10; 11-09-2005 at 08:04 PM.

Just a quick update:
I tryed to catch up on water last night after my workout to curb the cramps. They actually got worse. My arms were cramping pretty bad and I was peeing like a race horse. I slept like a baby except having to get up to pee around 3AM.
I took my first dose of Red Acid this morning AFTER my golean w/milk. For about 15 minutes I had the heartburn again. I took my whey shake when the heartburn started coming on and it has subsided. I think that I will be taking RA before I eat so it is sortof under the food in my stomach. It seems the heartburn comes if not.
I already feel the energy coming on as I sit here and sip my coffee. The feeling I get from Red Acid is very much like the feeling I was getting after 2-4 cups of coffee and taking 2 green tea caps. There is a little bit of a different feeling, but it is still not intense like previous thermo/stims I have taken. I like it!Last edited by turbos10; 11-10-2005 at 05:38 AM.
