pity you didnt find a shirt
but seriously, i wouldnt eat some animal from the garden. who knows what diseases it has.
i was watching this show where this guy caught snails in his garden to eat them. but he had to do some **** to them first. he kept them in a jar (still alive) with i think only lettuce to eat. he said that once their **** turns yellow (i think) theyre safe to eat. it took a few days for them to become safe to eat. but you cant just pick things up from the garden and eat them you damn hillbilly.

ooh, a white squirrel, not to common that, pics?
also, I will agree, possum tastes like crap most ways it is prepared... nice job killing the timber rattler, and even better job on cooking him up... only had rattler once and that was a diamond back, but I assume that timber tastes pretty similar, good eating for sure.
This is actually one of the things I miss about living where I did in OH, there was a guy who I knew who did a "roadkill picknic" once a year. it was great, lots of interesting food, everything from possum to squiril, to snake, to deer. Basically anything you might see run over on the side of the road somewhere. Good good food, and there was even one person there who found a good way to cook possum, but I think that was because he stewed it in enough BBQ sauce making a brisquit out of it that you couldn't taste it anymore...A diplomat . . . is a person who can tell you to go to hell in such a way that you actually look forward to the trip. - Caskie Stinnett

I ate housecat for several days once at a school I had to take in the military. I've eaten bugs, snakes, lizard, about two dozen different kinds of bird, ant larvae, worms and a few other things I can't recall right now. You should try balut - yum.
I've also eaten all the normal stuff - deer, squirrel, rabbit, ducks, geese, bear, antelope, elk, moose and turkey.
Not dead yet.

The ant/termite larvae is far and away the best of that bunch - actually pretty good. You can't eat the adult ants because they have some kind of acid that messes up your stomach.
I had to attend a school called SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape). I had no choice - it was eat what I could find and catch or go hungry.Last edited by Geno; 05-07-2007 at 10:23 AM.
