I knew the ratings would drop but not that much.
And if you are an idiot who thinks this isn't a big deal, ratings make a big deal in regards to TV deals which then affect salaries. Salary cap goes up every year usually but if they find out ratings are sucking, their TV deals will go down and so will their contracts.
We saw how butthurt and stupid NBA players like LeBron were when Daryl Morey supported HK cause it affected their money.

Unless you're a hardcore LeBron fan the storylines are few and far between in this series.
No Giannis, no defending champs, no Celtics vs Lakers storyline. No disrespect to the Heat but nobody is tuning in to see them. People will tune in to see the Lakers lose but obviously the Heat need to make it close for that to happen.
The potential juicy storylines for the WCF fizzled out too.

Misc also said nike took a blow.
it's not.
I agree with this, except for the part no one tuning in to see the heat. I definitely did watch the game but if they get clapped in game 2 like they did game 1, that'll be the last game i watch and we're full speed ahead to football season.DCA'ing FXS since Sept2022

If you aren't black you must quit watching sports.
Watching sports, such as football, is a form of slave owning because your watching black people hurt themselves so you can be entertained.
Ohio State professor said it, not me.

If you're tuning in to see the Heat vs the Lakers, you prob would've tuned in to anyone vs the Lakers is what I meant.
I cheer for the Raps and Warriors. I'll tune in to see Luka, sometimes the Clippers and Nuggets.
I can possibly get behind watching Giannis vs the Lakers or the classic Celtics vs Lakers rivalry.
I'll turn on the 4th of this series if it's tight and the Heat have a chance to win (not if they're down 2-0 though). Outside of south beach, I think the Heat bring the least to the table of the other 4 top teams in the East this year as far as appealing storylines or fan bases outside of their region. If they make it close then people will watch. If not, people will stop watching very easily.

Would much rather watch the Jets vs Broncos than the NBA finals this year
I can tune out the BLM sh!t for a good game, but this matchup does nothing for me"Stop sitting back saying yeah man, I wanna be this, I wanna be that, grab your phucking nuts and be it" -Greg Plitt
