    Are these plates any good?

There is a local small gym liquidating their equipment, which I bought some pieces. I saw the plates in the pictures below while I was there but didn't purchase them, as I am not familiar with the manufacturer of the plate (Power Systems and X Training Equipment) or the style of the plate either. They were wanting $1 a lb. for them. I know $1/lb. for weights these days is a good deal, but are these a screaming deal for this type of plate or just an ok price? If I was to buy them all, I would probably keep some and sell some. I appreciate your comments.

Personally, I'd buy them and flip them, but I don't use bumpers. If they weigh their stated weight or even close to it, then it's a great price.

$1/pound was always pretty standard for used basic bumpers that aren't falling apart. I'd say it's a no-brainer in the current market.

Buy them all and sell what you don't want for a bit more to recoup on what you keep.

Regarding flipping these, I just wasn't sure the demand for this style plate. Each plate, regardless of the weight is the same diameter of a standard 45 lb. plate and the 25kg plate is probably twice as thick as a 45 lb.

That's standard for bumpers and they generally sell for higher prices than steel plates.

Buy and flip what you don't need. You can still get $2/lb for Oly bumpers up this way. Heck, you can still get nearly $2/lb for metal plates here.

Look nice to me, if you want other plates this sounds like a great opportunity for flipping as others have suggested. Even in normal market conditions you would at least be able to get your money back.

Great score bro, bumper plates are a lot more valuable and you could probably sell the lot for $1000 straight away

I bought a few hundred pounds of bumpers for under $1 a pound 2-3 years ago. They are black diamond and could be had from Walmart fairly consistently. However, I don't Olympic lift and about the only exercise I found them useful for was cleans. Even then... not required. I also hate doing cleans. They smelled a bit and I knew that would wear off. However, I easily sold them and made $ from them after owning for almost a year.

The other thing that bumpers help with is if you are doing deadlifts and cannot yet handle at least a 45# plate on each side. My thought was my wife would use them for that and son. However, son was into 45's within 2 weeks of starting to lift and wife does not do deadlifts.

I would really hesitate to buy used bumpers. They have a lifespan. Rubber should last in the right conditions but if you are dropping them, they will deteriorate quicker obviously. If I ever bought more, I would get urethane and only get select sizes to fit the purpose and not try to load up on too many.

Any woman who doesn't deadlift isn't worth staying married to.
