Hopefully some newbies read this thread. They all think the only way they'll gain muscle is to rely on a two scoop shake with water instantly after your workout. Yuck.

Personally I don't feel like eating food after training very hard
I still have a shake after training I know that is blasphemy around here, it's just easier to digest and I feel better after training. I don't eat a lot pre-workout, I have a small meal around 2 hours before training as I find I perform best in the gym that way, if I do a heavy meal or fasted training I don't perform as well. It's all personal preference.Free Agent

Checking in!
Stopped post workout shakes awhile ago. The only reason I even still buy protein is that I like having a shake for breakfast in the morning. I use a blend because it's more versatile for baking/cooking with if I see an interesting protein recipe and because the thickness of the shake feels more satisfying for breakfast.
I save at least 800 of my allotted calories for post workout because nothing beats a big meal after a good workout. Currently I'm on a sharp cheddar and pepperoni omelette kick with peanut butter toast.

Back to the Supplement Section with you!
Nah, sometimes I will. I'm not here to blast people who prefer convenience of protein shakes, that's totally understandable.
It just erks me when you get the 1,000 newbies who come here assuming they HAVE to have a shake, than when you tell them otherwise they want to argue and tell you "Flex Magazine told me so!"
I just take a raw steak with me in a cooler and eat it immediately post workout.
Come one now, can't argue with results. You've seen my penis size. 4 inches of growth since I started training.USMC (2009-2013)

I do agree if you are strapped for time shakes are a great way to get your protein. Also they are great for hitting your macros while staying low in calories. Im not against protein supps at all, i actually use my whey daily for cooking and sometimes a shake if im strapped for time. I work out at night tho and after a workout im STARVING. Can't see drinking 300 cals and it'll only hold me over for 20 min.
