The bar only hurts for a week or two and then your body gets used to it... I was actually pretty surprised at how fast my body adapted.

...
Anyway, I use a towel as a pad and when I don't, I get this huge red mark where the bar sits, and it stays there for days.
People who squat 4 plates to the ground use a towel/pad in my gym.
Why don't the people in this thread try to convince them to be more manly lawl

So? You have a powerlifter who is squatting a ton of weight with no pad.
BRB changing all the minds of the people who squat 4 plates in my gym for reps to not use a towel/pad because of what someone else does.
BRB not using a towel/pad myself because a strong man doesn't use one.
Am I suppose to care if someone cares that I use a towel?
I don't care if you use/don't use one
You care if someone does

Strong homophobia in this thread. I don't care how revolting the thought of sexing another dude is, it doesn't have anything to do with squats unless it's a part of your ex-gay treatment. Do you really think Elton John is a heavy squat away from bedding jlo?

well i cant lie, my response for those things is usually "those are for girls" but really it's a matter of preference man. if you feel comfortable using the pad then use it. i personally dont like it and never have. i used it once and i just felt extremely awkward, i didnt feel balanced and sometimes it would roll off. it's just something i dont need to use because it doesnt work for me. now i've seen plenty of bodybuilders use them so it must work for them. dont worry about what people say man, if you like it and it works for you. then use the chick pad, oops i mean the squat pad. i'm j/k man

wow alot of fukking idiotic responses.
brb giving a shiet what i look like at the gym becaue a bunch of people in the interwebz said i was a pussy.
if you can use the pad comfortably and safely then use it. if you prefer to be pseudo-hardcore about it then by all means glue broken glass to your barbell and wrap it in barbwire before placing it on your back.

I can't believe so many people trying to get big and strong are afraid of a little short term discomfort.
