the title says it all..
I dont normally drink a lot just sometimes on the weekends with my friends, we do liqour and beer, I know its horrible for me, but its nice to take a load of sometimes though and just sit back and relax with friends.. anyways question is what will this exactly do to me if its only like once every 2 weeks or once a week?

there are some good articles http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/bbinfo.php?page=Alcohol
basically, drinking once every couple weeks isn't too bad. the main reason I dont drink a lot is 1- you sleep in after a night of drinking, thus missing 2-4 meals, 2-empty calories, 3- dehydrates your body for 8-12 hours depending how long your out, etc
its a personal choice. but if you're serious about making gains you will take preventative measures when you drink alcohol so that you wake up at a decent time, have a protein shake, and rehydrate your body from the night before. Instead of going thru the mcdonalds drivethru after a night of drinking, have 2 glasses of water... but try not to piss the bedDumbbell chest press all day

Some people on this site will try (subconsciously or not) to scare you into not drinking...you can drink and still gain (strength and size). Moderation is key, and this I can say through experience. lol
A few things that help:
-I try not to drink within 24hrs before or after a workout.
-I hydrate more than regular on the days I drink.
-I generally don't drink (heavily) more than two days a week.
With the above in place, I still put on muscle and gained strength consistently during my last bulk.
Don't let this hobby ruin your life. I'm drinking right now...lolMy Training Journal: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=120696121

Yeah this is something I always worry about too. Sadly I still act like I am 18 and typically drink very heavily Friday and Saturday nights. And by very heavily, I mean often over 10 shots of vodka and sometimes ending the night with a quick puke or two before bed (don't judge). I just started a bulking phase in October and am gaining and going up in the weight I lift every week. I am sure I would be more successful if I didn't drink and actually rested on weekends, but I like to have my fun.
It isn't going to stop you from successfully bulking or anything. It does however add to the fat I am gaining during this bulk. I am thinking about cutting it back to once a weekend though because of that. Probably won't though. Keep drinking if you want, you will be fine. Just depends how dedicated you want to be.

basically, everybody cheats once in a while. think of it this way.... if alcohol is your only cheating for the week, you're still ahead of the game. i personally end up cheating with tacobell every couple weeks so i dont really drink. you got it just right, its nice to take a load off. sometimes rewarding your mind is important so that you can keep pushing your body while you battle with the iron during the week. just my personal input. ;-)

Nothing wrong with a little taco bell. Let's have an example:
Fresco Ranchero Chicken Soft Taco:
170 calories, 4g fat, 22g carbs, 12g protein.
That seems okayish to me, aside from very high sodium (680mg). Another example:
Fresco Crunchy Taco:
150 calories, 7g fat, 13g carbs, 7g protein.
That's not bad either, and sodium is better (350mg).
Let's say you went all out, and got five (5) grilled steak soft tacos. Totals:
1280 calories, 72g fat, 103g carbs, 57g protein.
Not the greatest, but could be worse. A decent macro for the day is still salvageable (though sodium is very high at 3g+).GOMAD!

Those are the main problems IMO. However, these can be solved by drinking water/gatorade/whatever before going to bed and getting some solid food in your body like pizza or a sandwich. You just gotta have some discipline. Try not to sleep in too late either, and make sure you are drinking tons of fluids after waking up.
If you can't train AND party at 18, you are a complete pussy.
