    Is 7:30 a good mile time?

    I barely run, I'm out of shape aerobically, and have probably run a whole mile less than 10 times in my life. I tried running a mile, and I got 7:30. Is that good at my level of skill?

    Since the 6th grade I've been running sub 6 minute miles, though.

    7:30 is probably pretty average for an out of shape, athletic adult male.

    edit: you're 15. That would've been slightly above average iirc.

    If you're running many miles a pace like that is fine. It's more about building endurance to run farther distances rather than having a brutal cardiovascular workout.

    i run the 1.5 mile in 11-12 minutes and thats considered "pretty good". 3-8 mile runs i have never timed, it seems like forever when they make us run those in the navy though.

    your mile time isnt that great but if you keep at it you will improve in a short amount of time.

    To join my high school's soccer team we had to run 2 miles under 12 minutes. Lol, **** was hardcore but most of us knew the test was coming up so we had been training for it. I guess that was the idea, start the season in shape so you can work on your game rather than trying to get back into shape.

    7:30 is average for someone not in shape. When I was in high school and ran track I ran the 1 mile and 2 mile. I forgot my 1 mile time but my fastest 2mile was 10:58 and I still came in 2nd.
