Srs questions guys. Whats the difference between an investigation, and a political investigation? Would this be happening if Biden wasn't running for election? Who decides if its political or not? And does running for election automatically stop the POTUS from mentioning someone to investigate you? Unless Trump verbatim said I want you to investigate the Biden's for my political gain, how in the world can they prove any wrong doing?

It is democratic marketing. Their is abundant evidence that Ukraine was at the center of the 2016 Russia hoax, and biden is on tape bragging about his own corruption when he was VP.

On the other hand, we had the DNC and Clinton pay foreign spies for fake Russian dirt so that they could spy on trumps team. At the same time, chalupa from the DNC was over in Ukraine trying to force them to dig up dirt (or make it up) on trump and Manafort to undermine his campaign.

The latter isn't a crime or political apparently. The former is impeachable.

There was a republican who had a great quote about it and how its a question of motive and the point was along the lines of your question. If Trump believes there was corruption there he could be asking for the investigation and its in our national interest. Nothing wrong with that. If his motivation is to politically damage Biden, then that is not OK and is an abuse of power.

Since no one knows Trump's feels at the time, this is an impossible issue to make a determination on. Hence why we have this clown show going on now that will change no one's mind. Hence why they would impeach him along party lines if they actually vote on him, and the Senate will acquit him along party lines if it gets that far. And people will argue about it until they are blue in the face when its such a grey area that all of this is pointless.

My personal opinion is that there is enough smoke there with Biden and son and Ukraine and corruption for Trump to plausibly deny it was political, even though Trump is generally full of chit. I don't understand why people can't admit that what Trump did was possibly dirty AND AT THE SAME TIME what Biden and son did was possibly dirty. Sometimes there are no good guys in a situation. Something most people on this board cannot seem to grasp.

You must have been devastated when Trump withheld $400 million and left her country out to dry unless they complied with his demands. They were literally begging for missiles to protect themselves.. why didn't Zelensky give in to Trump's demands and publicly announce he was opening up an investigation into Trump's political opponent? Doesn't Zelensky love his people?
