Up to my family's farmlette outside of Seattle. I'll spend at least a couple days in the city and already have a dim sum day planned where I will eat ALL THE THINGS.
NOOOOOO!!!!! It's just water weightAlas, that was my weigh in before I ate all the food.
Oh lord, gym people are weird.

Public gyms are very lolsy- even more so than university gyms and those are pretty good too.
Yeah, don't do that IRL, hehe.
Nothing embarrassing about failing the bench, IMO. It was the most failed lift in my meet. When you see guys who squat double bodyweight like it's a warmup fail their bench, you realize it happens at all levels.
Sounds like fun. I've only spent one day in Seattle (was on my way to Sasquatch), but it's a beautiful city, well what I saw of it. Do plan to return someday. You can't help the hopeless.

Today's Workout: Bench Mechanical Stress
Weigh in: 182.2
Warmup: 5 minutes elliptical, light face pulls and OHP
Set 3
Paused Bench Press
5x45, 3x75, 2x95, 1x115, 1x135, 5x3x152.5
My bench felt pretty good today. I may need to pause a bit longer, but my arch held up and my butt stayed on the bench.
Paused Incline Bench
4x6x110
Finally hit the end of the rep range, will go up next week.
Paused Decline Bench
3x6x120
These are getting harder; I think it's because I'm moving up in reps on the flat and incline. You can't help the hopeless.

Nice work as usual. I've only tried incline a couple of times but that was back at 24 hour fitness. The anytime fitness locations haven't really had a set up convenient for that one. 120 sounds hefty. :-)

Thanks. The gym I go to doesn't actually have any bench stations. They just have a bunch of racks and benches, which is nice because you never have to wait for a particular station. You can make anywhere a place to bench, squat, etc.
Today's Workout: Squat Mechanical Stress
Weigh in: 182.0
Warmup: 5 min exercise bike, leg swings, arm circles
Paused Squats
5x45, 3x95, 2x135, 1x185, 1x225, 1x275, 5x3x285
The low bar warmups felt pretty good. I was a bit wiggly on the 275 single. I just need to get used to the forward lean as the weight goes up.
The work sets were really solid this week.
Paused Front Squats
4x6x120
Really smooth. I just had my squat game on today.
Paused Leg Press
3x6x410
pretty uneventful
Limber 11
Went pretty well
Starting Stretching
My shoulders were a bit stiff, but they're fine. You can't help the hopeless.

Thanks. I really love paused squats, more so than paused bench or paused deads, lol.
I did Candito last year, so I had I think 10 straight weeks of 6x4 paused squats. They were pretty rough at first, but once I got used to them, my free squat really benefited.
Tomorrow is an off day for me.
Saturday is an AMRAP test, squat, bench, and deads ~85% 1RM (what I think my new 1RM is- not my current one)
Vids will happen.
Hoping for 5+ reps on each lift. You can't help the hopeless.

Vids are going up!
Thanks Buddy
I live to squat.
I have to kill it in here. I eat too much to ever stop lifting.
Today's Workout: Judgement Day
Weigh in: 182.2
Warmup: 5 min elliptical, leg swings, walking lunges, facepulls
Squats
5x95, 3x135, 2x185, 1x225, 1x275, 1x8x315 AMRAP-PR
Ooh I thought I was going to barf. Don't think I've ever done an AMRAP set w/ this much weight. I couldn't even squat 315 once way back when I did 5/3/1.
Bench Press
5x45, 3x75, 2x95, 1x115, 1x135, 1x7x155 AMRAP-PR
I couldn't even bench 150 back when I did 5/3/1 so I know this is a PR. Went pretty well, IMO. Could have had more leg drive though.
Deadlifts
1x225, 1x315, 1x6x365 AMRAP-PR
Sorry about the crap vid. Didn't realize how close I was to the camera. At first I was disappointed w/ 6, but then I remembered that 365 was my 3RM two months ago, which is like a 20lbs improvement to my 1RM.
I have tomorrow off as well and then will be doing a new program on Monday based on today's results. Get ready. It's time to kick ass and chew gum, and I'm fresh out of gum.Last edited by Partyrocking; 09-10-2016 at 11:26 AM.

Awesome work on the AMRAP sets. Whoa 315x8, yeah that would've been a justified barfing for sure. Keep on tearing it up girl!
Current PRs:
Bench Press: 200x1
Deads: 315x1
Back Squats: 275x1

Thanks! My back is paying for them today, lol.
Thanks.
I don't think it will take long to relearn the stretch reflex. I' m not even sure if you really forget it. I've basically only done paused work since my meet, hadn't even touched 3 plates on squats or deads, but the weight moved well on the AMRAP tests. The only tng work I had was the warmups.
My back though is rather sore today, so there is some cost to only doing paused work and then going all out without it, but the carryover is great. You can't help the hopeless.

Today's Workout: Bench Mechanical Stress
Weigh in: 181.2
Warmup: 5 min elliptical, light facepulls + tricep pushdowns
Paused Bench
5x45, 3x75, 2x95, 1x115, 1x135, 8x3x157.5
My bench was on fire today. The pauses were smooth. I'm feeling good right now. November 13th, here I come.
Paused Incline Bench
4x4x115
These were tough. My triceps were tired, but that's no excuse. The weights will rise.
Paused Decline Bench
3x7x120
Had no one to give me a liftoff today. Barely made my reps.
Limber 11
Went pretty smoothly. Lower/mid back was sore.

Yeah my Dad usually gives me a liftoff, but he wasn't there today, so I had to bench the bar out of the rack, urg!

These were slow as well
Paused Leg Press
3x7x410
Pretty normal

Pssh, I can think of five reasons I won't front squat.
It sucks not being totally in it mentally. Especially once it messes up your lifts, which just takes you out of it more. Way to push through and get it done though. I'm sure the refeed, and double rest days will help.PRs: 95lbs/126lbs/212lbs

Yes, the mental game is the hardest part of lifting. A couple days off can only help, as you work so hard most of the time. If you were a slacker, I would yell "GET BACK IN THE GYM YOU PANSY!" But you're not
