Couldn't even bench 1 plate on each side when I first started lifting. Today I decided to put it on there, actually did 2 clean reps. Reps till I'm out, then I'll get everyone else on recharge.

Greatest feeling is when you finally hit a new plate, now you just need to get three.

Great job!!! I remember someone saying that back in 1970, only 2% of the population could bench 225#. I'm sure that it's higher now since weightlifting wasn't nearly as popular then, but I'm guessing that it's not as high as 10% (just a wild guess though). Has anyone seen recent published numbers on this?
EDIT: WikiAnswers had the following regarding a 200# bench: 92 % of men can chest press 200 lbs.Last edited by Payton1221; 04-20-2011 at 07:48 PM. Reason: Additional info from internet search
