Ok well i did some research tonight on BCAA's & EAA's (Thank you pu12en12g & Young_Squatter) and i think its time to give these a go!
I mean i have 2 shakes a day but feel i could be making more gains by using BCAA's as well.
Im looking at:
Optimum 1000 BCAA's 200 caps
Extreme Formulations ICE
Scivation Xtend
Controlled Labs Purple Wraath (EAA)
Each seems to provide about 3 months worth and is each around $50 US (aside from Optimums).
ICE & Xtend both seem the same, however Xtend also contains "Citrulline Malate 1g".
Purple Wraath doesnt have a breakdown but includes more variety of amino acids per serving.
So with my trusty $50 in hand, which should i purchase?

First off, id like to say, its good to see somebody who is 21, and not jumping on the ph/aas trail, and taking them just because there 21. Its good to see older people, looking twards safer routes first to build a better base.
With all the products you named, i would have to go with mega dosing xtend. I would recommend purple wraath, but there hasnt beeen enough evidence as of yet, because the loggers are only on day 20, so we dont no as of yet, the whole experience. Xtend, has been proven by many people to work great, and i think it would be a great addition to you.
Also, I would look at Universals UNI LIVER Tabs. There very very cheap, and loaded with amino acids/bcaa's. You can pick up 500 pills, for lkie 12$ here at bodybuilding.com. Besides xtend.. that would be my reccommendation.
Good luck man, and best of luck to you, in finding a solid product. If u have any more questions about what i said, feel free to ask. REPS?
Mike….

Iny my opinion, mega dosing Xtend is the way to go.
About 12 scoops per day will yield incredible gains but depending on how much you want to spend you could cut this to 8-10 scoops per day. Or you could take 12 scoops per day on workout days only and this should last you about a month to 6 weeks depending on how frequently you workout. Check out Derek "Beast" Charlebois' article about this. He gives the breakdown about when to take each serving.

I have tried a few different types\brands over the past months, and have finally settled on Xtend. (Used everything from bulk, to ON's, to Nitro). So far, I feel Xtend has given me the most notable results. (Decreased recovery time, overall good "feeling", and the best taste, hehe. I use the grape).
As a side note, I weigh right around 200lbs. I do a whey\oats shake pre and a whey\oats\dex shake post. I've been using 3 servings of Xtend, 6 scoops, during my workout in a 32 ounce shaker\water bottle. Like I said, I'm liking the results\feeling, and truly feel it has been a GREAT addition to my supplementation routine.Steve

Purple Wraath and xtend are great products. I am using Purple Wraath at this time and I am loving the gains that I am getting and also the recovery time. It also gives you a great energy boost that I enjoy very much pre workout. xtend has been raved about by a lot of people and many love the outcome. Good luck in your choice and your training

For BCAA I highly recommend Scivation Xtend, here is a good thread for you to read on to give you more info on xtend.

For EAA I recommend WPI.New 5/3/1 Strength Journal:

With a good EAA supplement, you will also be getting BCAAs. My EAA supplement supplies me with 4g of leucine in addition to the other EAAs. Keep in mind that BCAAs are also considered EAAs.
That said, my EAA supplement does NOT have tryptophan. Tryptophan is a precusor to serotonin and increased supplementation of other AAs to stimulate protein synthesis may use up dietary l-tryp, thus leading to a deficiency in serotonin production.
EDIT: Based on some quick research, it appears that Tryptophan plays a vital role in regulating and stopping uneeded protein synthesis. Thus, many EAA formulations have purposely left this out.Last edited by HalleluYAH; 04-24-2006 at 09:00 AM.

Xtend has been tried & proven for a much longer time. I would suggest to go with Purple Wraath as it contains both EAA's and BCAA's. I am going to do a log on it soon, so I'm also excited to see how it works out. It has received great reviews from what I've read.

NOW... Purple WRAATH is by far the best choice for a Ergogenic + FREE FORM EAA combo (obviously there is still LOTS of confusion about what FREE FORM means )
I would go with a GlycerGROW + Purple WRAATH combo.. BUT DON'T take my word for it:
