Freewheeling
"The hardest thing I ever drink is water.
Drinking alcohol is stupid for so many reasons.
Why would anyone go to all the trouble to work out so that they can look and feel good. Then do the exact opposite and drink alcohol with all its negative effects on the body.
When I go to parties with my friends I drink soft drinks and set a higher example for the inebriated people there.
Alcoholics fool themselves into believing they need alcohol to have fun. In reality they are sad people who need a crutch like alcohol to cope because they have low self esteem. I can have a good time by displaying my personality, charm, good looks, and sparkling wit. I don't need a cocktail or a beer in my hand to look like a man. All I need is my flex appeal. "
What an utter shambles you are pal

I drink alot of beer and drink while lifting as well.
I feel that you do have to not only recover from the drinking but from the workout as well. I dont think it reduces your test but I have no facts to back it up. I workout frequently while hungover. It helps to have a couple during the next days workout as well.
its obviously not good for me physically but but sitting around sober is no good for me mentally either so I think its a fair trade off.
As a matter of fact, i got druink yesterday, it was deadlifts and powerclean day. Today I am going to do squats and rdl's. I am on my second beer, when I hit 4 i will start the lifting."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Obviously drinking isn't the best way to recover, but gotta have a social life outside of the weight room too IMO. But then again, i guess i'm in love with ladies, not just the meat from the meatheads haha. But if your worried about drinking but wanna have fun, smoke a bleezo. YEE, plus it'll make you want to eat more if your bulking

Hit PR's on Snatch, C&J, and Front Squat the day after drinking a ton at a bar. Don't think it matters too much honestly.

don't want to judge anyone but imo.. its sad for a person to need alcohol in order to have a good time. FOR ME, alcohol ****s up my day after and I'm way more social sober than buzzed. No sin in drinking but drinking just to get buzzed three nights a week is sad. Maybe when you're 17-18 it seems fun and cool but in my twenties there are tons more stimulating and gratifying experiences than getting sihtfaced.

Might not be able to lift as much but I feel a hell of a lot better after leaving the gym as opposed to sitting on the couch all day

I second that! A friend and I are avid boaters and what goes hand in hand with boating? Drinking of course. He's been working out for 20+ years and me for less than 6 months. He can hit the gym and give it 110% after being rafted up on the river all day with the booze flowing. Me on the other hand, I have to hit the water bottle all day on Sunday and recover from Saturday night's festivities before I can even think about hitting the gym. Drinking + Lifting doesn't = a fun day for me.

I just work out anyways. I don't really notice any difference...and even if there is a difference, it's just one workout, you got some time in at the gym and there will be many more to come...

The ****ty feeling I get trying to lift after a night of drinking is a big part of why I have curbed drinking to begin with. Nothing worse than lifting with a hangover
Intensity, Recovery, Nutrition, Sleep- the only things that matter.

one extreme or the other
It's best to just stay out of bars/clubs. It's better to have your health... Suffering for a better cause... What's the point of take 5 steps forward if you take 30 steps back. I rather have a nice body and be strong 💪, than have a few beers 🍻....
