agreed. u should never bulk in hope of muscle mass. i think pro's like lee priest bulk off season because they wanna let loose, get fat and then just burn it afterwards. doesnt seem to make lee any bigger year by year.

okay so if im gonna stop bulking and cutting but still want to gain muscle by 'clean bulking' so i can keep my bodyfat low... what should my diet look like? are there any examples? I thought the bulks i were doing previously were clean (i was only having oats/brown rice/wholegrain bread and harldy no saturated fat. I dont know how I could possibly make it any cleaner than what i was. Also do you still do any cardio in this 'clean bulk'?

In your method that's
10months bulking
2months cutting
10months - of muscle gains
2 months - cutting hard to lose all the fat while possibly losing small amounts of muscle.
in DOGGCRAPP you dont need 2months to cut becuase you bodyfat % stays crazily low!
so thats
11.5months bulking - gaining muscle
.5months cutting - not gaining muscle, thats only if you actualy thing you NEED to cut.
dude thats 1.5-2months of gains you lose EVERY year. that all builds up !!!Obsession is just what lazy people call dedication.

I completely agree with DC's views. I do cardio 4-5 times a week with soccer/running to keep in shape for soccer as well as lifting 3 times a week, and in the past year i've went from 130 to 170 pounds, not great by some of your standards, but good progress for me considering i was clueless for about the first 8 months and maintained the same bodyfat as before.

Doing cardiovascular exercise and lifting heavy work hand in hand which is contrary to what everyone thinks. You won't burn muscle doing some cardiovascular exersice. You'd have to run out of glycogen stores before that happens, and other fat stores, which is like very hard to do. Also, cardiovascular exercises improves your recovery, which in turn helps you grow faster!

I find it difficult to gain muscle at a low bf percentage. I am an ectomorph and my body doesn't like putting on weight. If I break a few rules however i.e. mixing fats and carbs and no carb cutoffs, then the fat gains come but stop around 12% or so and any gains beyond that are pretty much all muscle. I tried the DC diet approach, and made some muscle gains. If I follow a not so clean diet, I get better results. But the heavy lifting made my muscles as hard as a rock. The density the prgram gives you is awsome. The DC diet approach obviously works well for a lot of people though, just not me specifically. DC lifting will make you one strong guy though. I am looking for functional strength though and good physical prepardness, so it wasn't the right routine for me. However, pretty much every guy who does a DC routine with a dialed in diet gets pretty big pretty fast.
