The only negative I've ever heard to wearing wraps too tight and too often is in textbooks saying it can cause chondromalacia. But I've never actually heard of an equipped lifter have the issue and I would think wearing tight knee sleeves could do the same thing.

Not even sure what that means. Tightness is relative though. I only wrap tight close to a meet but my low to medium tightness could be tight enough to cause that chondro thing.

@308smk you've inspired me to try a light wrap on my speed work this weekend to see if it helps with the knee pain. Thinking of doing 2-3 sets, then re-wrapping to not waste time/get used to having wraps on for a while. I'll report back with findings.

It's bone on bone grinding between your kneecap and femur which destroys the cartilage. It happened to my mom from 30 years of running, she has no cartilage left in her knees. But apparently it can happen from a tight wrap because you can restrict the natural movement of the joint.

Ouch. I hope that's not what I have. My knee hurts pretty much all the time except when wraps are on.

Any of you guys rehabbed biceps tendonitis in your shoulder? I've been dealing with it for the last few months, and I cant seem to get it to go away. Doc gave me some stronger anti-inflammatories and ive got an apt for PT next week, but not sure if there's anything else I should be doing or how long I can expect to be limited.

Also I apparently have arthritis in my right shoulder (and also both knees) at age 32. So I got that going for me which is nice.

You should definitely be able to get away with 2 sets. I find the cast like wraps don't cut off the circulation as badly as the really stretchy ones. Sig golds should be fine. Think decently tight but not cranked.
