Easy, show them other fat people's before and afters and let them know they're relatable to success stories. They were both weak willed people that let themselves get fat in the first place so it's not like the "now ripped guy" is somehow more strong willed.

"I was just like you, didn't think I could do it. Then I forced myself to eat better for just 3 days, I saw a pound come off so I did it 3 more days, just keep repeating it's that easy. If you can do it for 1 day you can do it for 365, it's just repetition, I'm the same low self esteem video gamer with no physical activity as you were, I'm not different" etc etc.

Then show them the "how did people treat you differently after losing weight" threads. <---GOAT.

    Appetite suppressants don't hurt either. ;_;

Agreed. Something we could do when this thread is renewed is maybe have all the regulars' "before" and "afters" in the very first post with an invitation for anyone to chat.

An official competition thread could be cool too...especially if supp companies donate some free prizes to winners and what not. Or even just some bb.com swag.

Think we may have to do Moore's pics in reverse or some serious photoshopping then.

Something you can implement right now-

    >make the next challenge thread a sticky
    http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=170850911

    >and add a green arrow or smiley to the front of the title and swap out the title with this:

April 1st - May 31st Fat Loss and Motivation Thread. Open to All!

(I've added some capitalization and added the text "open to all".)

Site veterans in the challenges often take ppl under their wing. We used to post the dmacdonal copypasta at the start of the thread. i'll try to do that later or anyone else who happens to see this can do that for me. Edit: No time to do that right now.

    ...

MissLadyJ, I'll be doing hill sprints at my brother's place. I won't have gym access there. ttyl, hopefully tomorrow.

    3. Buy a kitchen scale and weigh everything that you eat.

    5. Lift heavy weights to preserve muscle mass, on a structured program (see below). Why not your own routine? Read this. Don't wait, start lifting yesterday!
    6. Cardio is optional; do it if you like to increase your calorie deficit. Do it on off days from lifting and don't let it interfere with recovery.
    7. Still not losing weight? Stuck on a plateau? Read this. And remember, you are not special.

And watch this informative video with terrible music: http://youtu.be/JVjWPclrWVY

    Important Stuff To Know
    - Weight loss is not linear and predictable. Weigh yourself every day and track the average. Ignore short term fluctuations.
    - No specific food has a fat loss advantage over any other food. Eat foods you enjoy that deliver adequate macros and micros.
    - Cardio is not necessary to lose fat. It's just a tool to increase your net calorie deficit.
    - Muscle loss is not an issue if you get adequate protein and train properly, even on a big deficit (unless perhaps you are already quite lean).
    - Don't train on a bro-split from a magazine. Unless you've been training for a year or two, you will probably do better on a full body strength program designed by an expert. You are probably not an expert.
    - Keto offers no fat loss advantage over any other caloric deficit, except perhaps for very obese, sedentary folks.
    - Eating fat does not make you fat. Low fat diets screw up your body. Adequate dietary fat is crucially important.
    - The only bad fat is trans fat. Saturated fat is fine unless you eat stupid amounts of it.
    - Protein powder is a processed convenience food and offers no advantage over protein from whole foods. Use it if you like, it's fine. Remember to count the calories in it.
    - Sugar & simple carbs are irrelevant for fat loss as long as you hit your macros within a calorie deficit.
    - You cannot, in any way, change where your body chooses to burn fat from. There is no spot reduction.
    - Eat 1 meal/day or 10, there is no measurable effect on fat loss.
    - Eating carbs before bed is irrelevant within a calorie deficit and adequate macros.
    - You do not have metabolic damage unless you've been eating starvation level calories for a very long time.
I think that is about the bare minimum, slight information overload but it covers all the bases.

yep brewed a pot of coffee in half a pot.
    "whoosh"

too bad I had already drank half a gallon of water to combat the cracked lips I woke up with plus the coffee so weighing myself was useless.

Well, it's like 24 degrees F here so my extremities are always cold.
    But I know the feel.
I need to drop 10 more lbs before I get it though.
then my toes go numb just from the cold wood floors and i'm wearing wool socks to bed & bundling my feet up with blankets.
sometimes my two smallest fingers will turn white. LOL!

right now I just don't sleep.
I just lay there not moving until a few hrs before the alarm then i'm out.
But I took some Valerian root last night & pulled 7hrs.
could of been the root or the fact I got no sleep the night before.

My sleep quality has drastically improved (but that could be that I am fully worn out come evening) but my sleep duration is decreased, only need 5-7 hours now rather than 8-11.

i know whey is listed first, but i wonder what the ratio of whey to soy is. but yeah can't beat hospital grade powders. they sacrifice flavor but they're very strict on ingredients for allergy reasons
