Phil Heath takes his place on the Mr. Olympia wall in Gold’s Gym Venice Beach
With only 12 others being given the highest award in bodybuilding, Phil Heath’s 3-time Mr. Olympia accomplishment is quite the feat.
They call him “The Gift”, and for good reason. He began as a college basketball player with hardly enough muscle to be considered a contender for the Olympia title. He found himself drawn towards weight lifting and immediately noticed his talent, yet was unaware of his potential greatness.
“The first two years I competed as a pro, I qualified for the Olympia, and I declined that contest two years in a row. So every year I declined I would get ridiculed by fans and other bodybuilders,” Phil says. “I didn’t believe in myself and that I could be in the game and do something special.”
I would call 3 consecutive Mr. Olympia titles something special. With tons of hard work and repetitive viewings of Pumping Iron on VHS, Phil perfected his body and took his place on the wall of the Mecca of bodybuilding: Gold’s Gym in Venice Beach.
As I stood there talking to Phil, his muscles dwarfing mine, his wife brought him a bag with his next meal, which was not to be delayed nor interrupted. He ate it diligently despite the many fans and colleagues trying to grab his attention. After he finished he hit the spot light and gave a motivating and thankful speech.
A theme he reiterated throughout the evening was belief; believing in oneself and trusting when others believe in you.
“Without belief none of this would be possible. Without striving for excellence, striving for greatness, and wanting better each and every day will not yield being 3 time champion,” states Mr. O.
With a grin he added, “Hopefully 4 [wins] this September.”

I stopped posting on these forums, but I still follow a few threads and have been following this one.
I just want to comment on the Phil Heath nay-sayers. Or those who say if Kai comes in better conditioned or Wolf or Ramy they can take Phil . To me this represents a fundamental misunderstanding of both Bodybuilding and Phil's physique. Lee Thompson wasnt being biased and was far from wrong when he said Phil Heaths physique is years ahead of the competition...it is. Have you guys seen Phil compete in person? Videos or pics dont do him justice. The guy looks like a freakin live cartoon. Phil Heath has arguably the best lines, flow and tie ins to his physique ever. He has round thick muscles that POP and he does this while coming in detailed conditioning !
Its all this that makes Heath Mr Olympia and unless Phil just ****s up and Kai comes in 110% , Phil will get 4 Sandows.
I am a Bodybuilding fan, not just a bodybuilder fan, I am not on the heath bandwagon , but Phil Heath is legit...there is no comparison...there is no dispute...this guy delivers and will continue to deliver."The only way out of hell, is through it. "

How many people actually showed their full body doing comparisons in one of these "blah blah weeks out" videos??!
I mean I haven't seen anything like that so far. Not only content is less and shorter but the quality and what they present is worse too.
Evan's lifestyle video was better than anyone's workout videos so far. Anyone feeling me?Grainy hardcore religious slabs of thick dense muscle. So grainy that it hurts your eyes
