Jay Cutler's Guide to Fabulous Las Vegas
GYMS
GOLD'S GYM
7501 W. Lake Mead Blvd.
This is a hardcore spot I like to train at, with a few different locations in the Las Vegas area. A much better option than the gym fee at your hotel.
LAS VEGAS ATHLETIC CLUB (LVAC)
3830 E. Flamingo Road
A great facility for everything you want to do, with pools, racquetball, weights—every piece of equipment you can imagine!
EDGE
3645 S. Rainbow Blvd., No. 101
Key-card club owned by IFBB figure pro Mallory Haldeman. When I want quiet training, I usually head over to this spot to get my workout in.
CITY ATHLETIC CLUB
7980 W. Sahara Ave.
This gym is a must if you like a gym that’s higher-end but still hardcore. It’s super clean, and the lighting looks like a nightclub. It’s an awesome place for an evening workout.
POOLS
WET REPUBLIC (AT MGM GRAND)
3799 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
This spot has all the A-list DJs. Linked up with the MGM Grand, Wet Republic has the best weekends and is packed with people all the time— from Friday to Monday, the place is always rockin’. If you’re ready for fun, this is the place to go.
ENCORE BEACH CLUB (AT WYNN)
3121 Las Vegas Blvd.
You won’t want to leave Vegas without hitting up this spot, home to resident DJs like Avicii and Calvin Harris. They have a three-tiered pool complex, cabanas, and the works. They go all out, all the time. It’s defnitely one of the biggest pool parties in the entire country and is a guaranteed good time.
MANDARIN ORIENTAL POOL
3752 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
This is more of a laid-back luxury spot, a great place to hang by the pool. It’s a really nice area and also a really quiet, chill place to relax for the family.
CLUBS
XS (AT WYNN)
3131 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
This is going to be one of the biggest clubs around Olympia time and it is also where Phil Heath usually has his Olympia after party, so you know it’s a great spot for fun. It’s an indoor/outdoor spot with lots of different options for VIP services.
MARQUEE (AT COSMOPOLITAN)
3708 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
It’s a day club and a nightclub. You’ll get to hang with all kinds of different people. Get there early because this place is definitely one of the top spots people want to be at.
HAKKASAN (AT MGM GRAND)
3799 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
As one of the newer spots, they have definitely proved to be one of the best places to go in Vegas for nightlife. You don’t want to miss the insanity here. It’s the biggest at this time of the year. The weekend starts here on Thursdays!
HYDE (AT BELLAGIO)
3600 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
Hyde has more of a lounge feel. I love it here because I can just chill out and hang. Not too wild of a place, but you will definitely enjoy yourself. Awesome atmosphere.
STRIP CLUBS
SPEARMINT RHINO
3340 S. Highland Dr.
The best time to hit up the strip club is after the clubs are starting to get out. They have a variety of different-looking girls and it’s an unbeatable after-hours spot. It has the most girls.
SAPPHIRE
3025 S. Industrial Road
This place has high-quality talent. People flock to this club because it’s really big and has a mix of different girls.
CRAZY HORSE TOO
2476 S. Industrial Road
This is the original and it’s back! Every night—with weekends being the hottest—you can continue your party here with hundreds of girls working.

CASINOS
COSMOPOLITAN CASINO
3708 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
A really good place to hang out and it’s a really hip place to gamble. It’s pretty new also, with a really nice atmosphere. Live music every night and there’s always a DJ spinning!
MGM GRAND CASINO
3799 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
Big for gamblers. Pretty classy establishment with a great casino.
BELLAGIO CASINO
3600 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
All the high rollers head here when it’s time to gamble. If you’re big into the casino scene, this is the spot to be.
SHOPPING
FASHION SHOW MALL
3200 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
This is a great mall with a lot of stores. There are so many options and even a live fashion show every half hour in the center of the mall.
TOWN SQUARE
6605 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
It’s fairly new. They have all kinds of things to do—shopping, movies, the works.
LAS VEGAS OUTLETS
The outlets give you all sorts of options. Because it is of the strip, it’s not as crazy.
SHOWS
CARROT TOP (AT LUXOR)
3900 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
This is still one of the funniest shows in Vegas. Carrot Top actually used to be a bodybuilder, which is fitting for Olympia weekend. It is a pretty hysterical show.
ABSINTHE (AT CAESARS PALACE)
3570 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
It is really, really good and I highly suggest this one. It’s funny, but also entertaining with all of the acrobatics. Impressive show! A lot of the guys I see in the Vegas gym scene are performers in this show.
O BY CIRQUE DU SOLEIL (AT BELLAGIO)
3600 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
O is a water-themed show. It’s really good if you like the whole Cirque Du Soleil thing. It has a really wild and talented cast.
BRITNEY SPEARS (AT PLANET HOLLYWOOD)
3667 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
She is doing her residency at PH right now and if you can get tickets, that’s something you want to go see. I just bought tickets myself because I heard it was great—and they were actually not too expensive for good seats.
RESTAURANTS
YELLOWTAIL (AT BELLAGIO)
(702) 693-8300
My favorite sushi spot. This is the high-end sushi spot. It’s a little more fancy.
NOVE ITALIANO (AT PALMS)
(702) 942-6832
If you want Italian food with a trendy scene, I definitely suggest you get in here. It’s at the Palms and they just reopened. They have a larger selection.
SW STEAKHOUSE (AT WYNN)
(702) 770-3328
If you are a steak and seafood lover, head over there. It’s always packed, so you’ll absolutely need reservations, but it’s worth the wait.
BACCHANAL BUFFET (AT CAESARS)
(702) 731-7928
Located at Caesars Palace, this is one of the most insane buffets I’ve ever seen. They have everything you can imagine (and possibly want) all in one place.
LATE-NIGHT
FOOD
KAIZEN FUSION ROLL & SUSHI
2760 Deer Springs Way, Ste 101
The ultimate late-night sushi spot. You can get sushi here until 4 a.m.! It’s so convenient and the food is always fresh.
GRAND LUX CAFE
(702) 414-3888
My favorite late-night destination is in the Venetian. Grand Lux is great—you can get any kind of meal at any time.
DELIVERY
TERIYAKI BOY
9055 S. Eastern Ave.
Healthy eating and during the Olympia weekend, you can pre-order and they’ll deliver prepped meals right to your hotel. They have a special Jay Cutler bowl you have to try!
BREAKFAST
PEPPERMILL
2985 Las Vegas Blvd.
This place is open 24 hours a day. It’s a pretty casual place. Phil and I meet here after the Olympia every year. So you can find us there when our after-parties commence!
SIGHTSEEING
RED ROCK CANYON
Scenic Loop Drive, (702) 515-5350
If you want to go for a hike or see beautiful scenery, lace up your sneakers and get ready for a great adventure.
STRATOSPHERE
2000 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
This hotel has several rides hanging of the top/side of the hotel. If you like thrillers, it’s a pretty unique thing to try. - FLEX

I know the pose-down is supposed to be the coolest part of the show, but to me is just disorganized random pointless (because its not judged) posing.
In order of interest/excitement, to me:
1st- Pre-judging mandatories comparisons (especially that 1st call-out);
2nd- Pre-judging individual mandatories (the first time we get to see them);
3rd- Finals comparisons;
4th- Final results (unless its really close for the top spot, which is rare);
5th- Posing routines (to the sound of our "favorite" commentators);
6th- Pose-down.

Dem stiff-arm rope pulldowns - David Henry's back muscles looked like they were about to explode off his body!
Great vid! Loved seein them train and also loved the interviewing.
Nobody is stopping Kai from doing the same, or any other competitor for that matter. Arnold used to do it often way back in the day, and know what the other competitors did in response? The very same...Last edited by stealth_swimmer; 09-08-2014 at 12:59 PM.

Maybe, maybe not. If competitors don't follow suit, it's kinda their own fault. On top of that, it's not like you can just walk right up to the judges - the stage ends somewhere. Not just that, but the lighting is different depending on how far forward you go. Again, Arnold would use strategy like moving forward out of the good lighting till other competitors followed him, and then take a couple steps back so he'd be right back into the good lighting. I think it makes things more interesting.

Yeah, bad competitors who obey the judges when they tell them to stay in line. Bad bad competitors.
What kind of argument is that? "well they can't get that much of an advantage since they would fall down the stage eventually...". If Phil is in front of the line and kai goes after him they both are ordered to get back in line, i have seen this happen...why is that? its not against the rules so for all the judges are concerned they could be whatever they want.
Easy and only way to fix it? make an official rule instead of an implicit one, and find a way to penalize those that break it.

Typical stealth logic. Of course enforcing the rule would be better, it's not a 'maybe.' If competitor's would do what you're suggesting than it would take 10 minutes just to hit a single pose. They'd be vying for an advantageous spot forever. Why even have a line at all then?
And if you disagree, just look at the last Olympia. If Kai hadn't given up and just stayed on the line, things would have gotten ridiculous. They would have been edging forward every second, judges would call them back, and they'd just start again. It would just be stupid.
Instead, the judges need to grow some balls and start enforcing their own rules. Stay on the f*cking line!

Agreed, the line-related rules should be reinforced.
In a "sport" where physique is everything, and detail is very important, especially perspective,
That is an unfair advantage, and a significant one, enough to be labeled as cheating.
People who trivialize a few inches do not realize the impact it has on a frontal view.
Kevin Levrone, himself, admitted that he did that against Dorian, because he couldn't match his size.Last edited by RoroCwalker; 09-08-2014 at 04:26 PM.

I agree, there should be a "3 strikes" rule. Competitors who step over the line should receive a verbal warning from the judges. After 2 verbal warnings, if they do it a third time they should be penalized (not necessarily disqualification, but they should have a point added to their scorecard). This kind of system would put a stop to this ridiculous trend of bodybuilders stepping over the line. In other sports, competitors are penalized for doing things that give them an unfair advantage (think about free kicks in football matches, false starts in races, stepping over lines while serving in tennis matches, etc), so why should the sport of bodybuilding not adopt such measures to keep things as fair and honest as possible? The competitor who wins should be the one with the best bodybuilding physique, not the one who is prepared to cheat the most (**cough** Phil *cough**).

Hahaa...agreed. It would be like guys in tennis not being called on false serves for stepping over the line or basketball 3-point line or free throw line...lines are all there for a reason and the athletes/competitors follow them or else they are penalized...same rule should also apply at a bb show IMHO. Can't believe it is not reinforced and is actually interpreted by some to be fair game "tactics" to help win.

Lol @ Fleas and Roro disputing Stealth's logical post purely because of their feels toward Phil and Kai.
Can we make some kind of deal with you two? I propose that if Phil wins again, neither of you two are allowed to moan any more. I don't think this section can handle another year of your complaining.Novice Athletic Tall winner and Overall Athletic winner
