I wonder about his plan with videos where its cuts of a ton of different bodybuilding videos. Is he gonna try and copywrite claim it too? Seems extremely greedy. These videos are the only way he can expand his fan base, if he keeps them all on his channel then his fan base remains with those who go to his channel already. Ohwell Phil has always rubbed me the wrong way with how he comes across.

It's the same thing Mike Buffer does for his stupid catch phrases.

ah, ok. Makes sense. So it's stuff that's already been copyrighted by Flexonline or other places with Phil in it, but other people are posting it on their Youtube channels *and* monetizing it.
Pretty sure you can monetize vids so that you get money based on the number of views. Granted, it might have changed since this vid was made, but this guy explains it here. You can monetize each individual vid.

Yes, stealth thats what happens.
There was a poster here who would post competitions or footage of bodybuilding documentaries from his youtube account that would flip the video image. He would play the same music on all the videos and they would all be about 2-5 minutes.
If he is monetizing the videos that means he is making money (probably insignificant amounts) off someone else's work.

I don't fully understand.
a) Why hasn't he been doing this from the start?
b) If he's so concerned about money, why doesn't he PAY somebody to search for him, instead of making a plea to his fans asking them for free work, then giving them nothing in return, other than a hypocritical scolding about money not making it in the right hands?

Phil's such a petty person. When he's got getting into pointless arguments with trolls on instagram he's chasing a few dollars from Youtube vids.
Damn it man, just be thankful people are helping you promote yourself. We're dodging more ninjitsu attacks than Flex Wheeler. We're ducking more bullets than George Farah. We're facing more death than a kid leg pressing at Branch Warren's gym.
You can't stop us. You can't hold us back.

This, all the way^^^^
I love his physique but come on man, nobody complains about youtube videos, not even superstars and stuff like that (which most definitely concerns way more money than bodybuilding)... just be happy you are Mr. Olympia, have a villa with a couple of Bentleys and tons of Jordans/hats.
All right?

Not a great fan of Heath's physique but I do think there is a reason for him doing what he is doing, i can only imagine the profits on his video sales are significantly diluted by all the youtube stuff and it could get to a point where he is making the video's for nothing.
IMO it would be best for Heath's public image if he put out a media release to youtube explaining why he feels he has to take these steps, the explanation video above gives the impression Heath is hiding behind his people and also spends too much time talking about Heath talking to fans in person which comes across as damage control. If Heath fronted the global bodybuilding community and gave a straight forward and honest answer his popularity would not suffer.

In all fairness here bro I don't think you quite understand business/promotion nor copyrights/patents.
What Phil is doing is 100% correct and if you listened to Bios guy vid up there he explains it.
Bart lets say you were a poster on MD and I copied all your posts on there and posted it here on bb.com. I got reps for all your well thought out posts and your advice, not only that but people are contacting me asking me to be their online guru and I get paid by them. How would that make you feel? You would not be saying thats cool stercs is making money of my stuff...nope you'd be saying HEY wtf is going on here that's me earning that $ cause of my time!
****ty analogy but there it is.
HE is the one in the video, he has every fuking right to request that his youtube account should have the rights/royalties and in exchange we will get better quality videos.
He doesn't owe you **** yet still puts out videos, theirs plenty of bodybuilders who do not give a **** about fans and he does so does Kai/Wolf. They all go the extra mile, they are very good reps for the sport but don't kid yourself they are doing it to make money.
Also read this and come back to me and say youtube video's are nothing:

Agreed with your point but, Youtube views pay very little, especially when you're operating in a niche like bodybuilding. Most of the money comes from apparel, sponsorships or in this case supplements.
That company pulled in supposedly 5 billion views a month, a feat that I doubt any bodybuilding competitor or company could ever even dream about matching, in a year. (Yes I know there are 20,000 channel in the company)
