Judging comments can be a bit of a pisser just because they have so much to keep track of they don't always elaborate the correct way. Like on my judging sheet where it said, "Work legs". As if I was slacking in my workouts. Geez... I was killing my legs!
I talked to a ball room dancer about teaching me how to dance and choreograph a posing routine today.
like Arnold and Franco with the ballerina in Pumping Iron.
We start in January.

I have more e-friends than I do irl! : )
You're deadlift, squat, and BENCH trounce mine and you're calling me strong?
A sincere thank-you.
Boom! Proteinz all over Cf's pic....
Ty.
In my training I have a philosophy; if you're in there for longer than an hour on anything but legs, you're phucking around. So no, my gym sessions are not long, under an hour mostly with the exception of cardio.
Thanks again. I dunno what to say about my approach...its now like an instinct, when I want something specific from training I don't even think the how's pre-training nor during.
Pre- back injury I could rep out 405 on G.M's.
My legs are the least of my concerns;
I only need some gunz to watch teh wheelz.
When my back can handle squatting (hence the dead focus), i'm gonna try and give FLEX a run for his money in squats. Imo, he is king there.
That was 2 weeks after a show and I had a great photographer. I always think I'm fat.
Ballroom dancing.
Ballet is teh gay.
Luvs me some Katy Perry!
I don't have a new career yet, its in the works though.

Vague, and vague can lead to be insulting. But this is what we get when the spirit of bodybuilding gets lost and when it becomes a business to them.
Phuck 'em Steve.
Train for you.
Its a group and the lead dancer is male...but I get to learn with hawties...
don't know how DAA and being an un-sesxzored nattie bb'er is gonna go while dancing close with a dime but if anything opos up she will be impressed.

This week, I ALLOWED laziness to set in and used lame EXCUSES not to train seemingly like the majority of humanity do.
This week was a self test at enabling myself to be weak.
By Friday I had had enough of this sh*t.
Lesson learned.
Inertia leads to inertia, and inertia leads to being a sheep, and sheep are weaksauce.
I learned I cannot kill what is already inside of me.
The Fiend hunts from ahead of the pack.

Several reasons why....
1. Your my friend.
2. I love reading your posts
3. To offer support
3. You have forgotten more about bodybuilding than most will ever know.
4. To learn. Just because someone has gotten decent results does not mean they can't continue to learn from others. I still have much to learn.
5. To be inspired by your dedication to the sport and to yourself.
6. I want to be here when you figure out the puzzle that is Brian and get the results you deserve on stage!"We all have great inner power. The power is self-faith. There's really an attitude to winning. You have to see yourself winning before you win. And you have to be hungry. You have to conquer."

I love these descriptions! It's good when you can understand why people use different exercises --- I'm sure most lifters have no idea why they are using a particular exercise, and that's why most of us never get that far with our physiques

Misc.
I have my answer!
I have been dieting since 2007-08.
My 1st show was 2009.
I've yo yo'd my weight like a disordered runway model addicted to Twinkies, a typical side effect of competing.
My body doesn't know normal any more, it knows obese and its version of "lean".
It doesn't respond like it used to my 1st prep, despite what I do.
I just found this today and need to stew on Layne's suggestions to fix it.
And
I've been breaking out the 90's Gator's Gym Gear to train in to hide from all of the pussy gym goers that have complained that I'm intimidating.
Sleeveless or not
I still look like I lift you gym 'tards.
Aren't you glad this fashion trend died?
So am I.
but I kept the shirts!

I think you may have found that missing peice of the puzzle Brian. Great video by Layne and it may well be your metabolism is shot and needs to be repaired after so much dieting. I am really happy I decided to reverse diet and not pack on a lot of weight (fat) right after the competition. It's been 7 weeks and I have gained 6.6 lbs so far and lifting like a mad man and training with Dr. Mike Zourdos utilizing Daily Undulating Periodization.
Its always so funny to look back at old gym gear. I still have a pair of animal print pants from back in the day! LOL"We all have great inner power. The power is self-faith. Bad luck with the hammie strain on the leg day but at least you still got to hit the delts and core
It's interesting thoughts about what's 'normal'. Our bodies adjust to both a surfeit and a deficit of calories and eventually the 'thermostat' gets reset. You would have 'reset' your body's mechanisms for dealing with cals when you changed from being fat and maybe a bit of diet manipulation is in order again. Layne is smart, so his ideas are interesting
And you've got to love that 90s gear. The only thing worse was the gear in the 80s

Good couples a workouts! Ashamed to say I've never even heard of a glass ham curl. Makes me think of my hamstring just shattering...
For the back width, is there a way to measure to see if it's improving, or is it really just mirror only? I've never really been able to tell if my lats are doing anything.B: 285

There's gotta be a reason D...1+1 should = 2, not 3.5 or 4.
Reverse dieting is a testimony to how hard core you really are, that's awesome!
How's the new lifting coach going?
You do?
I never bought anything tasteless like that. LULZ
The hamstring stuff has happened many times, seems a delicate area for me...although I have no idea why since the hams hang like drapes.
Believe it or not, the fixing it is a lot of work and time...and requires not competing, which i'm not too happy about but maybe its what I need to knock some sense into me.
Imo, gym clothes may consist of almost anything you wouldn't wear on the street.

Posing.
Learn how to do a front and rear lat spread. take pics and then compare, like before and afters.
In addition, (this may or may not work because of your vision issues), close your eyes when doing back exercises to facilitate the mind/muscle connection.
You get DOMS after these on a repeated basis, which I did, I knew they were growing.
and yes, DOMS is not a great predictor for muscle growth but I still use it as a gauge for the efficacy of my training.
