It's a slippery slope! Not that I know anything about that first hand...
^^^exactly this
Lucky. I have the genetically opposite equivalent. So much so that I HATE training them since they never really appear to grow. "Barefoot" running has given me much better definition. For me. Still, that "better definition" is still laughable.
Oh noes!
WTF? You have a life??? How dare you!
Or they could be compression socks, which are supposed to make recovery after a run much, much better.

Ok so here are my pics. It's the first time I'm posting something like this! Gonna give this "before" state a run for it's money.
once again my starting weight is 218.6, looking to go down to 195 by Feb 1st. I am 6'0, around 22% bfat (acording to my scale)
The gist of what I'm doing:
Exercise:
3 times a week weights training (power 90)
3 times a week cardio/Yoga X
plus usually once a week basketball game and once a week a soccer game
I'd like to make the cardio more like HIIT, but i've never really done HIIT so any links to information on a good HIIT routine would be appreciated.
Nutrition:
trying to go for 2000 kcals, 200g protein, 100g carbs and the balance of healthier fats. Trying to go for 5 meals a day. I'm writing things down using daily burn tracker
Any comments/suggestions are much appreciated!

Why do I do this weightlifting thing for the last 34 years with all its ups and downs life has handed me? Because each time I came back stronger. NEVER GIVE UP. Gym life is about more than muscles getting bigger and weights going up. Its wisdom discipline dedication humility you name it.

Anybody around here good with sports nutrition? We've changed up our rugby practice time, before it was at like 11pm now we are moving to 7am. Normally I didn't eat after practice, would sometimes have a protein shake but now I definitely have to eat. I'll probably have a bowl of oats before practice but what would be a good post practice meal? Guessing I need some good protein and carbs to get me going for the rest of the day.
I am not a morning person so these practices are going to suck.

The remaining balance of 2000kcals from your stated macros equates to 1200 calories or about 133 grams of fat. This is actually probably closer to double what you should be consuming. I am not intending to be rude or anything but where did you get your macro numbers from? It will benefit you most to sit down and figure them out based on the wealth of knowledge in the nutrition section stickies. Good luck with your goals! I will be keeping an eye on you because we have similar starting weights and goals.

Nice seeing you around again welcome!
Right, couldn't post yesterday as I meant to due to too much celebration This is what I'm talking about:
Did that really... happen? Did I really manage to run a full marathon? Still ridiculously excited about it, and most of all, proud.
Definitely not a great time, nor was that my aim with trying to run a marathon. To me it was about beating the person I used to be. The memory of weighing 250lbs and not being able to run for over 5 minutes during warmup in PE while I was in highschool is all too fresh, and in a sense that's what led me to start a new, healthy life.
I used to absolutely LOATHE any kind of running, long distance even more. Gave running another shot after losing a considerable amount of weight and I ended up falling in love with it. The change in mindset completely reversed my feelings about running. What started out as horrible torture that seemed like it just wouldn't end turned into that one moment that's only mine, where I can think about anything without frustration or any unwanted emotions, where even the most complex of problems seems simple, where the one thing I have to do is to keep running.
The main reason why I went as far as training for the full marathon was to prove to myself that anything is possible as long as I put my mind into it. If even the obese kid who couldn't run a mile managed to run a full marathon, it truly means that we are the only thing standing between the present and our goals, no matter how lofty they may seem at the time.
I honestly can't find words to describe how proud I am of it, of finally feeling like I have gotten to a place where I thought I wouldn't ever get just a couple of years ago. SO thankful for all the people who inspired me to never give up, even when it all seemed for naught. If I'm able to return even a 1/10th of that to people who wish to do the same, I'll be overjoyed
(I'll probably come around later and correct the million mistakes I must've made while typing this, still hyped as hell and I swear to god my English gets worse by the day :x)

Major props man, congrats. That's one hell of an achievement. I'd love to take up running but I can't stand it. I'll probably be my next challenge tho.
Congrats again.
Current progress: still 161,4 didn't do cardio last 2 workouts to did 60 mins today and tried to stay within my calorie limit, not sure if I failed or not but I definitely shouldn't have partied on Saturday.
Anyway, decent leg day, nothing special.:)
Im fat and overweight, what do I do? Lift heavy and eat well.
Im skinny and need to put muscle on, what do I do? Lift heavy and eat well.
I have loose skin, how do I get rid of it? Lift heavy and eat well.
My GF cheated on me, my worlds ending what do I do? Lift heavy and eat well.
My Daughters boyfriend is a gang member who is leading her astray, what do I do? Lift heavy and eat well.
I'm 10k in debt, what do I do? You know the drill. No excuses.

I like Allpro's Beginner's workout here: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=147447933. I never used with the the percentages though. I also like Lee Labrada's workout a little better because of the set up routine: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/lee-...ek-1-main.html
Right now, I'm doing a variation of Lee Labrada and The New Rules of Lifting-Abs. Not sure if you've heard of the New Rules of Lifting? I originally started out reading The New Rules of Lifting for Woman and learned a TON about weights. Main thing to remember is to lift heavy. You are stronger than you know. And more muscles mean more fat burning potential while just sitting around doing nothing.
winfamy YOU GO BOY! Nice numbers!!! I'd be celebrating too!Kristin "Never mind your failures today...get back on that horse and RIDE!"

Thank you Give it a honest shot, forget for a minute you can't stand it and treat it as something completely new. You might have a completely different opinion about it I suppose long distance running is not something that appeals to everyone, but I'm sure a lot more people would pick it up if they gave it a real chance!
Hahaha I nearly spat my cereal all over the screen!
Thank you Enough celebration was had, back to hard work!
