    2/28/13 Smolov Jr. day 3

misc: had a test today. stayed up way too late studying but felt great about the exam after so its worth it. was STIMMMED THE **** UP, almost had a panic attack during the test. probably had 300mg caffeine in 10 minutes right before the test, and I have a low tolerance (200mg or less throughout the day usually). decided to go right to the gym after despite being mentally wiped, because I was still buzzing from the caffeine. Session was good though, tmw will be a brutal one.

    food
Just got a wok. ballin teriyaki chicken fried rice

"junk bowl" plain (non greek yogurt) with jello powder, casein, and topped with CtC

If you saw I have yet to DL 500. some of my rep sets have it as my max when I plug it into a calc which is why I have debated it being a 3rd attempt. when I hit 460 it was pretty much 3x bodyweight tho.

lol deal...and Im sure you have enough mass underneath. I meant theres a whole gamut genetic factors that play into it as well, but 185 @ 8-9% is my "natty limit" according to some of those formulas. I dont take them 100% but i figure if I can hit 185 in a few years at current leanness i would be content... so at 175 your pretty close.

Just saw you started smolov jr for bench.

After a planned deload over Spring Break, I am looking to run a cycle of it myself. But that depends a lot on if I keep making gains off 5x5 atm.

If my bench continues to grow on 5x5, I might just do smolov jr for squat instead, which will be god awful but also fun. 0.0

I know that feel w/ caffeine before exams. I took my SAT running on 4 hrs sleep and like 3 espresso shots LOL. I was so hyper during the test and the students around me were looking at me like I had ADD because I was tapping my feet and my pencil like a maniac.

Lifts look good. Very nice and strict form on the Pendlays! I have a feeling Smolov will bring great things in yo future.

I had a 6 hr interview to get my current job complete with case studies and other tests. Drank coffee all morning and smashed Diet Dews during break times. I think my heart rate was higher than doing HIT sessions even though I was sitting down most of the time. LOL

if you can keep progressing with 5x5 and you are squatting heavy 3x a week, I would hold off on Smolov and use it when it is really needed once you hit plateau's

You dropped to much on that deadlift load drop. 5% of 415 would be ~20. You should have only dropped to 395.

ahhhh didnt realize it had to be only 5%. ive kind just been arbitrarily lowering the weight after the top set. I was wiped today though so I dont really mind that I went a little lighter than called for.

This x 1000. Smolov will run you into the ground and cause injuries if you aren't 100% spot on with technique, rehab, prehab, recovery, etc, so why not milk 5x5 or 5x3 which is much safer for as long as possible.
Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.

Insane log. Never seen someone with so much strength at the height and weight. You play any sports?

    3/3/13 Smolov Jr week 2 day 1

    Blueberry oats. Dre bowl/10

    Poverty crock pot chicken chili

    recipe:
    Into your crock pot add:
~2.5 lbs chicken breast (you can use more or less, this is just the size of the pack I bought). other protein sources would work as well
-1 jar of your favorite salsa
-2 cans of beans, rinsed (I like to use black beans)
    -1 can of rotel
    -1 cup of chicken broth
-1 bag of frozen pepper and onion stirfry (or a fresh pepper and 1/2 a fresh onion, diced)
    -1 packet of taco seasoning
**optional: oregano, red pepper flakes, chili powder, any other spices you like!

Stir it all up, set crock pot to low for 6-8 hours, cover...after its cooked shred up the chicken, let simmer for a bit more, and enjoy.
P.S. its better the next day as leftovers.

Whole pot macros: 45g fat/210g carbs (lots of fiber)/315g pro

smolov jr for squats is pretty fun too, just sayin
You are not a fragile ornament ready to collapse into an exhausted mass of goo simply because you squatted more than once in a 7-day week.

It'd be like preparing your entire life to bang 100 chicks in a row, getting tan, hitting the gym, making sure your hair looks right and reading the Kama Sutra, only to realize when you get there that you're gay and cannot get hard in the presence of women.

Funny name for your blueberry oats.

Benching looks good. What is your reason for the light pause bench? I missed it if you did say already.
