I've been browsing this sub forum for about a month now and I've noticed the majority of people are so obsessed with anti-broscience that they've effectively created a broscience of their own in the sense that they're completely blind to any opinion other than theirs.
You guys live and die by the stickies and every thread becomes filled with arrogent people belittling others asking questions.
You live and die by the stickies but much of the stickies contain contradictory or subjective or argumentative information.
Lastly, I can't help but notice that a lot of the people who are arrogent, spend their days trash talking broscience like it's their career look like they've never touched a weight in their life, lol.
And this applies to like 90% of the dudes doing arrogent trash talking here. Sure, some look great and obviously know their stuff but the majority being dicks look like they're on their first week of P90x.
It's like a homeless guy calling a successful business man an idiot and then trying to tell him how to make money and invest his capital LOL. That's the feeling I get from his sub forum.
Not trying to talk sht or call anyone out specifically because there are good people and good info here but these are my observations and I'm curious if someone here can "aware me" on what's up?

broscience is basically anecdotal evidence, at least to me. while some things like meal timing have been proven false, eating 6 meals per day compared to say, 3 will get you the same results as long as the calories and macros are the same so there will be no convincing of a person that the way they got their results is wrong. i try to take every anecdote with a grain of salt, and every fact with suspicion.
you have to have balance or else your view will be one sided, but of course, if its your view its the right side

I support IIFYM but I'm gonna have to agree with you unfortunately.
I'm coming from the IFBB section first and foremost, and originally frequented the Misc.
Anyways....here people patronize the sh!t out of some of the people that come with legitimate questions. Lots of mean spirited sarcasm etc.
I think people fail to realize about 99 percent of the population don't understand the concept of IIFYM. They all still believe in insulin, clean foods, high fat is bad for you, carbs are the devil after 6 pm etc.
with that said there are many people that are very helpful on this forum to everyone (not including trolls obv), but theres some people that need an ego check.
oh and p.s.
Nutrition research is still young, so you never know what may change.Snatch: 122

People that regular this sub-forum have become very tired of seeing the same trivial and demystified questions asked over, and over, and over. Especially when a google or forum search or a review of the stickies answers the question.
The stickies were made to answer FAQs for newcomers, and many do not read them. Hence, frustration. What's even more frustrating (as an observation) for other users is when people spread misinformation.
Happy?

1. What "we" believe is backed by facts, not what the guy at the gym told us.
2. Every legit poster here says that the stickies are just guidelines & do what works best for you
3. Nutritional knowledge isn't based on physique..
4. If your feelings get hurt, who cares? This is an interweb forum with a group of individuals that don't know each other except for on here..

I've tried to be observant and most threads I read have dudes patronizing others for having an opinion different than the stickies and saying how they're way of doing something is wrong. Yet, I look at these dude's pics and stats and they're like 5'10" 155 and look like they've never lifted a weight. If half of these guys told me my way of doing something was wrong and theirs was better I would break out in hysterical laughter.
I understand that leangains.com is this forum's bible and the dude who started it is jacked and shredded as fuuuuuu but it's just funny seeing all these nutrition e warriors patronizing and talking trash when being able to bench their bodyweight or do a pullup would probably be an astronomical feat.

You guys say people are asses because newbs don't read the stickies... but that's my point, some sticky information is subjective, argumentative, and generally not correct.
Furthermore, I've readily noticed that many people blindly following the stickies as a holy grail don't necessarily comprehend the mathematics and correlative nature behind it.... thus you have half truths and misinformation.

OP you bring up some good points, and at the same time make some points that make yourself look like an ignorant jackass.
The stickies are made for people who don't know the basics, and save posters such as myself time from repeating everything a million times. It's easier for me to say "go here" than to repeat the simplest things over and over.
The stickies have valuable information that people really need to read and understand before posting. If you realized the amount of ignorance and stupidity that rolls in on a daily basis, you would agree with me.
Examples:
"GUYS I KEEP LIFTING WEIGHTS BUT CANT GAIN WEIGHT!!1!11!"
"How long after I eat something will it show up on the scale?"
"Critique my diet, it must be good because I'm eating about 12 times a day"
If you have specific problems with the stickies, please aware me to what they are.
As for the latter part of your thread.. give me a break, bro. No one says broscience doesn't work, so of course people can and will have good physiques that don't follow what we say. At the same time you aren't considering how long each of us has spent in the sport or our background.
The people most willing to accept change are the newer members, so of course their physiques might not be as good as stubborn bro *******s that have been lifting 10 years and refuse to accept change.
I suggest you consider reading the stickies.
If not; whatever. I don't care what you do. You're life.
With all that said, you did make good points about some people being so absorbed in the stickies and their own beliefs that their stubbornness may lead to an un-openness to change in the future; we'll cross that bridge when we come to it though. For now follow truth; which is what most of the reputable posters in Nutrition post on a daily basis.IIFYM - not even once.

"fill up the rest of your calories with whatever you want" = annoying as hell. Lyle has article pertaining to this specifically. The conclusion was that filling up the rest of cal intake with carbs after pro/fat are met is better for nutrient partioning/ preformance. Unless you really, truly feel better with more fat/less carbs, then filling your calories with whatever macro isn't optimal.
Preformance/results> personal desire."Everytime we liberate a woman, we liberate a man".
