Happened to me once when my bro and I were in the backyard of our old house. we had no fence and my neighbors dog which was not a pitbull, but big enough to demolish a 13 year old kid came running down an open field behind our back yard. It's owner was chasing it saying "watch out she bites".

Me being stupid as **** moves over to almost stand infront of the dog beacuse I wanted to pet it. Out of nowhere my dad kicks the dog from the side of it's ribcage beacuse it was so focused on me he had a perfect shot. It kind of yelped and moved back but snapped at me and kept trying to bite at me completely ignoring my dad so he went to town on the dogs face with a small wooden white sox bat that me and my bro were messing around with in the back yard.
