Gonna be 100% honest, I'm not mirin the bean boots at all. To each his own opinion, but I'd much prefer some thing like the LL Bean Katahdin:
or the Thorogoods I already have:

The black looks similar to the rigid, which is the "quintissential dark blue pair" that every guy should have
I have the Black not in STF 501 but in 514, and I love them. So you didn't really go wrong per say with the 501 STF in black.
But yeah, dark indigo/rigid ftw. Of course its fine to branch out, just start with dark rigid or deep blue or whatever because it goes with almost anythingo

Got a question for stylin SnP brahs
Do you cuff (roll ) your pants up when they're too long? Got a pair of Duck Head chinos in khaki that I love but I'm afraid I might ruin them cause they're a little long (got them in the right size but since I haven't squatted in 4 months all my pants have gotten bigger).
Also, thinking about purchasing corduroy pants. Which color would you guys buy and where at? I have one pair of corduroy pants but I don't wear them at all (black levi slim fit cords), don't know what to pair em with :/Last edited by BeastMode101; 10-25-2011 at 11:44 PM.

Just take the chinos to a tailor. $10max can get them hemmed to the perfect length.
For cords, I think the standard colors I would/do have are Brown, khaki/stone, navy, forest green (that fall green that is badass). OF course there are a lot more bold colors out there that you can get, but those are just the basic ones.
Wear them like you would regular chinos.Sperrys & Polo Crew

Preciate the help brah. Doc says I'll be growing another 2-3 inches (dead srs- unclosed growth plates) so I got my pants a little longer. Doc visit was 5 months ago btw.
Also, I'll be squatting and deadlifting in a couple of months after my knee injury subsides. Got pants a lil longer and bigger cause quads will explode when I lift heavy again.
But I'm considering going to the tailor to get my ocbds/button downs fixed, some are alittle too big.
Thx for the corduroy advice brah, will get a pair. feelin brown or forest green/fall green.
Would you still suggest that I roll/cuff up the pants? You don't pay for things with money, you pay with your time

In on this thread, lifetime sloppy dresser here. The older I get and closer I get to finishing my degree, the more I realize how important being well dressed actually is. I've always been big on first impressions, and have always dressed decently because of that, but it's time to step it up a notch.
Used to be a fat phuck and am nearing aesthetics, so now I'm trying to build an aesthetic wardrobe (no homo) to further reflect the changes I've made in my life. Picked up a pair of sperry's a few weeks ago (goodnight sweet tennis shoes), going to get some nice denims and a new coat for winter tomorrow.
No questions as of now, going to read as many pages as I can handle and read some of the blogs linked above. Looking forward to meeting you brahs.-Gary Johnson 2012- (should have done it, *******s)

Hey guys, about to order some land end chinos with the discount.
Only one issue... my quads have blown up the last few months from getting back into lifting and putting on a few pounds. Now most of my pants are becoming borderline ghey. I hate sizing up in the waist to accommodate my legs so can anyone tell me how well the LandsEnd chinos will fit if i get a 32x32 and have 25" thighs
Thanks
EDIT Also, are they true to measure? Apparently I have put on an inch or 2 in the waist as well, however, the chinos I had on yesterday are 33x32 and fit very comfortably. I just measured the waistband on those pants and it comes out to almost 35". I no many companies use vanity sizing or whatever but the LE sizing guide says nothing about this.Last edited by justalilguyy; 10-26-2011 at 05:45 AM.

hnnngg awh lawd, dat perfection.
I do have a quick question that I didn't seem to find in thread, although I'm sure it has been asked before (and I apologize for that, srs). I'm looking to get some Levi's later on this afternoon, and am unsure exactly what pair to go for. I very much dislike the super skinny look, however I do want a relatively slim straight cut jean. I figured I'd just go try a bunch of pairs on, but I'm trying to be as prepared as I can before I hit the store. Darker is better with denim, correct?-Gary Johnson 2012- (should have done it, *******s)

Is there a website with examples of men's outfits laid out with links to buy the pieces?
like this:
I absolutely suck dick at imagining clothes looking together in my mind... or tracking them down once I finally find an outfit I like
