Decent workout. Took it easy cause I had posing classes right after. BF was slightly up on the calipers, but thats most likely cause I just trained and it through off the back and tricep pinches which we up, but everything else was down...including weight. Im not worried though. No classes for two weeks. Gotta get workin on my routine ASAP!

The big let down!
^^^ Should be my new nickname! Why? Long story short, I've backed out of doing my show. This is so hard to explain but I'll try...I lost an employee and its been the WORST spring we've ever had! Since the weather has become semi good, I've been busier then ever before and to say we are just behind on work, would be a gross under statement! About 3 weeks ago, I started feeling really drained. Thought I was over training or something, but it was far worse then that. I stopped being able to sleep at night, I started losing strength by the day, work became so difficult that I could barely make it thru the day and had to start skipping workouts. Depression/Anxiety started kicking in and I started to have really bad thoughts going thru my head at night. Then I started getting really light headed all the time and was getting daily bloody noses. When I started getting pale my mom made me go to the Doctor and I got my blood work done to see what might be wrong...lets just say everything is out of whack! My testosterone level was 49...yes, thats right, 49!!! I got retested cause I thought it was a mistake....46 this time!!! In December my Test levels were 550 so this is more then just a small drop from dieting! Made total sense since I havent been able to have sex in weeks, I've had ZERO desire to and I've been emotional as hell, like a damn woman. Anyway, I know that its normal to have a drop in Testosterone from dieting, but my doctors dont seem to think that having levels of a 13 year old girl is normal by any standards, diet or not! They actually thought I was starving myself or doing drugs or something. Neither have even in all their years seen a MAN, of any age, with test levels under 100. After hearing their concern and talking with my mom and the docs that she works for as well as my own, I decided to stop dieting and get myself back to normal! I feel like a total disappointment right now...and I feel like I just did what everone expected me to do, so I think Im done trying to act like I might be a bodybuilder some day. Im just not cut out for it! I feel like MAYBE if I didnt have such a physical job and the stress of owning a business, I may have been able to see this thru, but unfortunately its not in the cards for me. I think I made a responsible decision cause I have been slacking way too much at work and its been costing us thousands of dollars. I need to be able to work like I normally do so I can get my company out of the red, cause normally we are making good money by May and we have too many bills to pay. Sorry for getting everyones hopes up about seeing me get on stage, it will be a while before anyone hears me talk about competing again. I probably wont be posting on here for a while, cause Im just plain out embarrassed about having to throw in the towel, and being so damn close! Anyway, thanks for reading! Happy lifting to all!

Damn dude if there was any reason to not continue on with your prep I would say that's it!
I know you are going to feel bad regardless, but you will put things into perspective in the coming weeks once you realise what more it could have cost you if you continued to prep despite these warning signs.

As it's been said many times-- bodybuilding is not everything. Your HEALTH and LIFE are true aspects that override the importance of any competition. Glad you have set your priorities (better late than never).. and realized that at this point in time specifically, the preparation is taking too much of a toll on your body and your life tasks. Take it easy on yourself and be proud of what you've accomplished.. Look at your body bro.. That's a win/win what you've done right there.. Nothing to be embarrassed about at all man you made a real mature decision and it took balls to come on here and lay it out for us. Big props to you Luke! Good luck with life and I hope things get right back on track..

If I was in your situation, I would have done the same thing Luke. Don't feel bad man, the stage will always be there if you ever want to compete again. Getting your life back on track and your health is so much more important than any bodybuilding show.
If you have time, come and make it out to the WA state Natural on July 30th. Would be cool to meet ya and say hi. If not, best of luck with everything!IFPA Natural Pro bodybuilder

I'd much rather have you around fat & happy than shredded & in the dirt my friend.
p.s. bodybuilding isn't what makes YOU Luke. Just do the shhh you like to do and be healthy.
p.p.s I saved the one 'chained' pic of you for my key chain. No homowww.3DMUSCLEJOURNEY.COM

You got nothing to be embarrassed about. You got down to a really sick body fat, YOU didn't quit! Life sometimes takes over and when your health is on the line you shouldn't continue. I would say most people here are pretty impressed by what you've accomplished from basically a fat guy to shredded.
You'll have a chance to compete another time!My Workout Journal:

Dang it Luke, I just got around to reading about this. I'm really sorry to hear about this. For everyone out there reading Luke's prep log, I can attest first hand to Luke's conditioning and symmetry. I hope everything gets better for you soon. You definitely have what it takes to do well in this sport.

You will be okay Luke. I cant imagine the depths of your disappointment, but I know what its like to have mysterious health issues hold me back from my dreams. Just hang in there. We all hit rough terrain here and there. Rest. Stay in the game. Keep focused with healthy foods and workouts, without pushing the envelope for now. I pray blessings fall into your life! Life, work, health.... it will all find its natural balance and start working in your favor. Be happy you had the ability to get this far. Not everyone does. Sign ups have been posted for the OBF challenge. FYI. DONT walk away from these problems, find your courage to press on.
