I've been doing SS for about 2 months and am looking for a change. I'm looking for a routine that will not focus squarely on strength, but more hypertrophy.
Instead of doing 3x5, would doing AMRAP work? 3-4 sets of using a SS template(using bent rows instead of power cleans.)
So it would look like this:
A
Squat
Bench
Deadlift
Dips
B
Squat
Press
Row
Chins/Pullups
Thoughts?

Dumbest idea ever.
It's destroying the purpose of SS.
You won't produce much strength gains.
Your goal obviously doesn't fit SS, so just change splits, or be thankful you have a program tofollow like SS, and follow it, while busting ass.Beginners, read:

do allpro's if u want higher reps. there is more to the template than just selection of exercises.
'amrap' every workout will not work with these types of beginner programs, u are meant to start off below ur capacity & gradually add difficulty until u go beyond capacity over span of several weeks. big part of beginner's adaption is neural, hence the higher frequency & loading pattern."Though the concept is not scientifically validated in detail (it should be considered as a hypothesis rather than a scientific theory), it is useful from a practical standpoint. I followed pretty much the same concept for quite some time and got quite a bit bigger stronger from it, basically going from about 165 to 190 in bodyweight (at similar bodyfats) while increasing my squat by about 130 lbs, bench press by about 50 lbs, and deadlift from an unknown amount (maybe 475-495ish) to 565.
It is a matter of listening to your body and knowing when you shouldn't do a rep, and knowing when to back off and know when to push it. I wouldn't recommend going all-out on every set (especially squats and deadlifts), but each set should be hard.

I dont understand how you think going AMRAP on every set will help your strength or size gains for that matter?
Completely messes with the programs progression (Any programs for that matter, it will just make it impossible to gauge your progression)
You have been on ss for 2 months. Why the change? Have you stopped progressing? Have you stopped gaining weight?
If your diet is why you have stopped progressing and growing, then you can mess with SS as much as you like but it is not going to change anything.
If your consistenly gaining wieght and adding lbs to the bar, you will grow and you will get stronger.

Why did you select SS in the first place?
2 months is NOT a significant period of time to follow a routine. Routine ADD is not the answer.
If you want to worry about looks and not strength/performance, just pick an entirely different routine. Don't try to morph SS into something it was never intended to be.
