Going to move to 3x a week and move pause squats to assistance after the heavy singles. Smolov jr starts tomorrow, last time I ran smolov jr. and followed it with Smolove intese cycle I gained 40+lbs in my bench.

I'm on my 3rd go/try with a BCAA supp. I've gotten them free all three times so luckily I spent no money on them. I won't be buying them in the future. I've never noticed a difference. If you're eating properly and getting enough protein then BCAAs aren't gonna make a difference. They haven't for me at least. It makes sense. If I'm eating 200-250 grams of protein a day, how would 10 grams of BCAAs make a difference? The 1st two times I was only using 1 scoop/5 grams of BCAAs a day. Now I'm using 2 scoops/10 grams a day an I've yet to see a difference in recovery or really anything at all for that matter.

Thank you for the information. I can say that I am getting enough protein with my current intake mostly due to the fact that meat is the staple. With that I am guessing my money would be best spent else where.

On a side note I have officially been invited to RUM6 and plan to attend. I know at this point I am not able to beat Vashon Peeryman but second looks doable and am hoping to get 1551 in April to take the Drug free WR. It is a long shot but with not making the Arnold this year for SM I need something to train for or these next few moths would be full of suck.

More meat > BCAAs. Anecdotally, I experience rapid strength gains once I bumped my protein intake to 1.5g/lb of BW.

ran out of time once I found out when we were leaving for holiday funness. Bench and DL tomorrow. I might start doing bench and other lifting at different times for food intake and time.

So where to start. . . . . I decided not to do rum for one reason, I do not want to cut to 165 ever again, EVER. I have worked hard to get to 180+ for strongman and do not want to spend the off season cutting it all away. My goals are to get bigger and stronger for me not smaller for competitive reasons. I did this last year and it messed me up for about three months. I am still going to do the UPA meet in April @ 181 and go over 1500.

    Today
    Dl to 455 x a few singles.

I feel really wierd and have been sleeping most of the day. Power and intensity was just not there so I called it a day. Also my gym was so cold my toes were numb.

You need to post a qualifying total at a UPA meet thats high enough to get invited to RUM as a 198er. That way so you dont need to ever cut weight again.

    OK!

    Front Squats
    2 x 10 @ 225

    Bench
    135 x 5
    225 x 10 w/ sling shot
    2 x 4 @ 275 ""
    325 x 1 x 1.5 ""

    DB row
    2 x 10 @ 60 paused at top

FS programming is coan 14 week squat that I used to squat 540 back in april. I am doing it with my foam belt only in hopes of a 405 FS in a few months. Got the sling shot out for fun and was scared ****less of 325. Threw it up super fast on the first try and locked it out, felt more comfortable the second time and failed.

You would have to go down to 165 even though you hit the 181 qualifying standard?

Didn't ask. Limping into a comp such as rum doesnt sound like the best idea. Plus up until two weeks ago I had not done a back squat in over three months or a bench press in IDK when. I do not feel I could get everytihing to a place where I could feel good going in 8ish weeks.

Damn. How big you want to get?

    Squats
    385 x 1
    425 x 1
    445 x 1

    SLDL off bumper w/ band
    3 x 10

Squats went awsome, the DL crushed my hams and lower back.

    **** you Paul,

    10'' log pressing
    200 x 1 x 2
    220 x 1
    240 x 1 pr
    260 missed clean

    Strict log
    180 x 3, 2, 2

    Floor press +55 lb chain
    135 x 5
    185 x 5
    225 x 5 x 3

    Dips
    3 x 10

    Log curls
    2 x 15

    Band pull aparts LOTS

Pressing felt strong and I am very much now sore thanks to the online HDB contest. I feel I could have pressed 260 if I had cleaned it but my cleans suck, next time (6weeks). Thanks Paul. . . . . I'm hungry!

The muscles i value most are the ones directly surrounding the spine, the hips, the scapula, the femur and the tibia... in that order.

Basically the whole body minus chest and biceps... pretty much the opposite of what your local gym looks like on a typical Monday.
