Nick, you're a legend
Smart lifts mate. You got the win and something to learn from the day.
Total success in my book.
Edit:
That Nick guy is coming to Aussie PA nats (looks like I will be same fed as you)
And nice lifts mate (just got email update of your yt channel)
I love your squats... Can i see the missed lifts too?
Also, what is your opinion on sumo vs conventional. Toying with the idea of using it at meets but doing conv in training.Last edited by ngolsen; 02-11-2012 at 10:36 PM.

Thanks guys. I am re-uploading a video right now with a song that won't get muted. Passed out on my parent's couch last night right after I updated the log lol.
I almost fukkin snorted when you told me to put chalk on my legs. I saw that guy there, but didn't see him lift. He must have been in the morning session.
Thanks guys.
Eh, I'll think about posting the missed squat/bench.
My opinion about sumo is that I can pull a ton more without straps due to having a tighter set-up. Confident I left 20 lbs on the platform yesterday. Was contemplating taking a 611 pull on my 3rd to break 1500 if my first two attempts would have went well.
I am still going to be training conventional because I want the back strength. Thinking about doing some moderate rep sets with medium weight of some extra wide sumo pulls just to get some flexibility and hip strength though.
I'll smoke 600 at my next meet. I promise lol.
Me and another guy both had 405kg sub-totals going into deads, with 3rd place trailing at 397.5.
405kg guy opens 230kg, makes it. I open 240kg, fuk up. 397.5 guy opens 250kg, takes the lead.
405kg guy and I both nail 240kg and tie it up, 397.5 guy takes 262.5 and expands his lead by 15kg.
That's where I had to decide what's more important, taking 255kg-ish and clinching 2nd, or going big and winning. Figured with how the 262.5 guy's attempts were going, he'd be at 270kg for his 3rd. He was lighter than me so a tie would go to him, so I went 265kg, meaning I'd beat him by 2.5kg if he got 270kg. He ended up calling for 267.5, so I don't think he had much faith in my 265kg.
Top 3 totals at 198:
1477
1455
1432
Easily the most competitive meet I have done yet, and am really excited at the thought of going to nationals. Also beat the Raw Unity qualifying standard, so that option is always there as well. I am super fukkin pumped about everything lol.

That guy cracked me up, he thought he was god of the 165's and never touched my openers lol. Would be awsome to go to nats or RUM, we could possibly hit up RUM this next time if you want. You want to come do the UPA meet in April, bet you would be looking down 1600 with there set up, def over 1500 even if you do not use wraps.

Awesome work, BD. Those were some solid lifts.
637/390tng/615 - belt/wraps, best gym lifts.
600/370/600 - best competition lifts.
575/330/560 - best competition lifts at 181 raw.

No 1500 but I ain't mad at all.
There is no way I am training in my gym in a squat suit lol. I'd be hesitant about using a bench shirt.
Thanks dude. Now I want pizza lol.
Jon Krogman gave me some weird stuff to put on my calves, and it stung like hell but the cramping went away. Just stretched them out and everything was fine. Don't even know why that happened considering I wasn't dehydrated at all.
I was super glad I went sumo though. Confident I would have nailed 600 had I attempted it the. The 584 was no thang. Gonna be training some deficit conventional for a while though.
Maybe I'll put up an extra video with those two lifts. I'm not at home right now though so I don't got the vids.
Thanks dude.
