I want to thank each and everyone of you for your undying support! It has been a hectic few days getting back into the swing of things. I spent alot of time on my phone telling friends and family so I decided to cool it with the computer for awhile so the wife didnt get mad. I got right back on my diet monday morning, exactly 4 weeks and 5 days out from the NGA pro qual. I have a busy schedule ahead with weddings and such so it should be interesting. I will try to get pics and a write up tonight. I was not overall pleased with my apperance on show day but it was my first show in almost 2 years so it was expected. Once again thank you all very much and stay tuned for the show pics!

Weekend Recap
So it all started with an 8hr drive to El Paso, TX. I left feeling very confident and knew I had I brought a package that was pro caliber. We checked into the hotel friday night, put the first coat of dream tan on and I proceeded to "try" and catch some Z's before my first meal at 4AM. I dosed in and out and when the alarm finally went off at 4, I woke up checked the mirror and said "Hot damn! I look good!" I ate my steak and potatoes and went back to sleep. At 6 I woke back up with my wife, ate more, did some cardio and circuit and got ready for the show. I slapped on more dream tan, and this is where everything went down hill. I showed up to the venue only to find the doors locked to the auditorium. All of the competitors and promoters had to wait outside until 11 before they would open it. El Paso, TX was not particularly hot that day, but damn that place is BRIGHT!
We all got checked in, peed in our little cup (which of course was easy for me, bc I dont cut water) and sat around waiting for the show to start. To make a long story short I basically looked nothing like how I wanted to, my tan looked horrible and I was flat as a pancake. I thought my peak week protocol was a sure fire. The problem was I thought I was right on track but in fact I wasnt fully hydrated, salted up, or pumped enough to match how I looked all week in the gym. With regards to tan, I realized dream tan only works against harsh, harsh front overhead lighting. Highschool auditorium lighting requires a more pale tan. After prejudging I wiped off most of the dream tan! Althought my tan was splotchy esp on my chest, nips and glutes....It still looked a hell of a lot better. I also realized this was my first show in 2 years and first one that I wasnt the home town favorite. My confidence was not quite there and my posing was sub par! So at this point you are probably wondering how I won.....Well I must say I did look better than I ever have with much added size. I am very critical on myself and I think I worked alot of the kinks out. I have 2 maybe 3 more pro qualifiers this year. My NGA show is in exactly 4 weeks 5 days and I hoped right back on my diet so no doubt I am going to be so lean for that show people are gonna slap their momma. I am really thinking about competing in the Natural Olympia this year. I have to find out the exact stipulations to qual but I just want to experience it. Kind of like Mike Kelianfanos(sp?) in the IFBB when he goes to the Olympia. Hell he'll never win but its fun to go and at least get pictures getting owned by Rico and Kyoshi Moody. So all in all, I am not 100% satisifed with the the way I looked at the show but I put alot of work in and on this particular day I was the better bodybuilder!
NOW FOR THE PIC!
The venue! Overhead auditorium lighting FTL!

Hey man, just recently saw your thread and wanted to say congrats on the pro card! I'm shooting for the same goal in eleven and a half weeks. You kinda got me scared now with your dream tan issue. Are you going to stick with dream tan for the rest of your shows?
Also, did you not carb up enough? Since you said you were flat......IFPA Natural Pro bodybuilder

Don't get me wrong dream tan is a great product with the right lights, however if the venue has lights similar to a gym it's a no go. My wife and I both decided we will wait for application after scoping out the stage. As for being flat....it all came down to water and sodium. I chugged a gallon between pj and night show and it made a works if difference. I think the combo of traveling and trying to manipulate sodium slightly was a recipe for disaster. I always preach that if you look good a week out change NOTHING! I kind of strayed slightly and it showed. Next time no voodoo or magic straight week out diet. Same varibles and that's it!

Dude coz... that is inspirational.. I remember a few months back how much bigger you were in size.. and I respect the hard work it took to get to this weight and level of conditioning.. You had your eye on this the whole time and never gave it up. That's a champion right there.

Good write up.
Yeah, I can see in those pics that it is bright in El Paso.
But hey I'm in the Pacific NW...forevercloudy.jpg.She approached with her hand extended,. I slowly stepped back. "No" she said. "I just want to shake your hand. You're amazingly gorgeous." As she walked by me she copped a biceps feel.
