nice journal and videos helped me.

what's your take on how i should use floor press? as a max effort movement? repetitions and sets?

and eric spoto mentioned that mid sticking pt means weak shoulders, while your video mentions it's to do with chest ( i hope i remembered right). any opinion on this difference in idea? because i indeed have a mid sticking pt

Floor press can be a good accessory if you stall in either the middle or top of your lift.

As a max effort I'm not sure that you would want to do that unless you're a very advanced lifter or you're doing westside. The only person I know who did max efforts with floor press is TrettinR.

Unless Spoto has Shoulders in his chest, mid point is a chest weakness.

In response to post activation potentiation claims I made

It turns out that I was wrong about the mechanism that is proposed for the phenomenon.

Apparently, the mechanisms are proposed to be increased myosin light chain phosphorylation and the H-reflex.

Considering what we've talked about in regards to my specific training situation, and you saying that it comes down to what I think is best for me, etc.

I'll start plugging your vids right now.

How often do you take your creatine?

about 5 grams a day, every day.

Take the total number of days in the year and divide that number by 1, thats how many days I take it.

Literally everyday? Is that your personal preference and/or you think that taking it everyday is most optimal?

creatine builds up slowly over time, so once u get dem creatinezors you need to maintain it.

I'm really not sure if it would make any difference taking it every 2-3 days, but most of the studies are based on every day creatine, so I creatine everyday.

So you never actually cycle off of it? When I've taken it in the past, I'll use it for 8-10 weeks in a row, then cycle off for a week. I'm just asking the question, simply because that's always been what I've read on it. It even says on the actual label. lol

Some people are afraid that your body will stop making creatine if you take it for too long, I think its a stupid idea. Your body isn't gonna stop making creatine. If you're scared though, you can cycle it. I don't think it will do anything for you, and it will decrease your performance a little bit while you're cycling off.

and LMAO, subtlety doesn't come easy to you, does it?

I think that's exactly why I made it a priority to cycle off. lol But you really think even if cycled off for just a week it would decrease performance that much? Like, if you maxed out on a lift, or all lifts, then deloaded, that wouldn't be a bad time to cycle off, would it?

I have no idea what the effects would be, not even a little bit. Creatine isn't cellular technology, the performances gains are much more subtle. I take it every day so I'm 100% sure I have the benefits every workout.

I don't use instant messengers, need to leave the computer sometime....

If you're gonna have it in your sig.... at least explain what it is.... people are gonna think its fruit porn or something. I was thinking more along the lines of referring your noob lifter friends whos logs you follow.

So how long are you gonna be doing hypertrophy work again? Still relatively early, but do you feel like it's been a nice change of pace for you? And how are your injuries?

You had a glute injury before, so you could relate to this. I have no idea if you still have it now, but what would you suggest to me? Because I'm just coming off a glute strain. I still feel it somewhat, but it's not to the point where it's preventing me from lifting.

You know that when other people tell me they are injured that I automatically assume they are lazy and pretending to be injured to not squat, right?

So my answer is.... how important are squat gains to you..... and how bad is the glute... really?

I wish I was pretending, and someone calling me lazy burns me up (srs).

Squat gains are the top priority for me right now, even over bench. Again, it's a slight feel I get when squatting, but it's not preventing me from lifting at all. If it's a slight feel, and I can keep squatting without any serious injury, so be it. I can live with it.
