I have straight pipes on my 2000 formula (LS1) and it sounds great...there is no droning as someone said before...as long as the rpms stay below 2000 its not bad at all....I love it as does everyone I know

lawls. Back pressure is only detrimental in a 4 stroke engine and the ECU will be able to learn just fine.
But OP get resonated pipes or you'll look like another douche with a loud exhaust. The point of removing cats is to reduce back pressure and get more power not to make it sound cool. If you want a loud car just get a catback.Last edited by EMartNJ; 02-05-2010 at 11:52 AM.
So it goes...

only way removing the cats is illegal is if your state has visual inspections...otherwise you can't really get caught. its illegal in my state and i have no cats.
and that backpressure BS needs to stop right now because obviously you have no idea what you're talking about.
do you have headers? cause you will want to look into those before you do anything with straight pipes
