It'll be another historic event if he comes in. I just hope he comes in under 300 lbs. He can bring a hell of a package if he would come in around 255-65 lbs. His age is the only down fall. I know his heart is always competing. Ronnie, if you come in, I wish you good health and luck. I wish you could get your 9th Sandow.
Come on everybody. Lets get behind him.

haven't you heard Arnold is coming back in a wheelchair at 90
the rule is 5 years...
but they changed it for arnold so im sure they would change it again for the lulz
as long as the former mr o wasnt going to disgrace himself...
but if lee wanted to come back looking like vince taylor you bet your ass they better let him compete in the olympia with a wild cardI wish it lasted, forever.

probably just because it's fun. This sport is a little different than others. From pro's to your local regional guys. There is a dude here in columbus he kicked ass in all the regional shows for years, finished top 5 at national shows and now he is in his mid 40's with some injuries and doesn't do well but he has fun and finishes in the top 5 or 10 in each show so why not.
It really is the same mindset as many pro's like vince taylor, ronnie, etc. hell even platz last year was talking about coming back...he knows he wouldn't win or do well it's just the love of the sport.
And in most "sports" or whatever you want to call bodybuilding you can't do it until your that old so it's kind of nice they have the ability to compete.

02-02-2010, 06:34 AM #20how to qualify for the mr. Olympia
1. The top 6 finalists from the previous year's mr. Olympia.
2. The top 5 finalists from the same year's arnold schwarzenegger classic and night of the champions.
3. The top 3 finalists from any grand prix or other professional bodybuilding competition held subsequent to the previous year's mr. Olympia.
4. The overall winner from the same year's masters olympia.
5. Any former mr. Olympia winner has a lifetime eligibility.
6. The organizer may, with the approval of the pro committee, extend one "special invitation" to an athlete who has not qualified in accordance with the above criteria.

He doesnt know at the moment.. He always takes 2-3 months break from training every year..
He said that after he gets back on training he will assess how he feels and then decided if he "feels" at his optimal level to compete..
Source: I saw him at a seminar and he said this..Dont do your best. Do whatever it takes.

As others said, he loves bodybuilding...
I think if he has the mindset of winning another O, he is going to be hard pressed. The level of competition is so much higher than it was when he was Mr. Olympia, plus he has some pretty serious symmetrical issues from those injuries. I could see a top 10 finish, but I doubt he places in the top 6.Bench: 215x12 (17/12/2011) PR since torn RC

Really? Ronnie 2002 vs. Jay 2009?
Late 90s, I think your right, the competition was tough, but in his later wins, his only real rival was Jay.
Just check this site out for history of all the Mr. Olympia results.
http://www.getbig.com/results/e-mroly.htm
1998, 1999, there were a number of contenders, but 2000-2005, at every olympia, there were only like 2-3 guys who actually had a solid chance of winning.
But now... gtfo, lol, there are like 6-7 guys who are potential sandow winners. Much tougher competition for Ronnie.Last edited by DavisForman; 02-02-2010 at 08:23 AM.

This lol. 90s Coleman had to compete against Shawn Ray, Flex Wheeler, Kevin Levrone, and Nasser, all in their absolute prime (except maybe Nasser). Those are some of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, no one competing in the Olympia today will make as big as an impact as they did, other than Jay.
