Why would you consider pushups, barbell curls, and rear delt DB raises as a "must"?

squat
deads
bench pressing
these are the only 'musts'...
i know some big dudes who just do variations of these 3 exercises...

Kick backs
Concentration curls
Dumbell flys
Leg extensions
Leg curls

Everything else is just fluff.

I don't think there is any exercise that "must" be done - if we are talking about bodybuilding.

I don't think there are any generic "musts" for working out. Everything is relative to what one is trying to achieve. Sure, squats and deads are great compound exercises, and many people see them as staple lifts, but they are not absolutely necessary. Of course, learning and using these exercises would only benefit a lifter, but one can also get results without these lifts. Certainly, I believe that a lifter should try to learn and attempt to perfect as many lifts as possible - a wider base of knowledge can only benefit..

You guys are all idiots.
Here's the single exercise that's helped me progress the most.
I take every weight plate I own to an ice rink, throw a stability ball on the rink, put on rollerskates and do barbell squats on the ball while someone else throws any weights plates I'm not using at me.
Next week I really don't wanna get hoofed in the face with plates so I'll add more plates on the bar therefore limiting the plate throwers chance of hitting me.

An absolute MUST: Squats, Deadlifts, Pull-ups, Bench Press (or some kind of press)
VERY helpful: Dips, Barbell Rows, Push-ups, Military Press
Most exercises have their time and place; but these should be staples.
