Are dumbbell shoulder presses a good substitute for military presses with a barbell? Why or why not?

Yeah, weight is a huge factor, but the deff part im talking about is because the movement is different , you can do one arm at a time or both, or you can bring your ams together on the downward movement,,,,I messed up my shoulder doing seated presses also,,,and db are all I do now, but I like them better

As far as I'm concerned, it's like swapping flat bb bench press for flat db bench press, so yes it is the best substitute to do with dumbbells.
