I want a career I'm interested in, 99% of the misc chasing something a job they want purely based on salary which puts them working 100+ hours a week. My friend's dad is a mining engineer and works easily 12+ hours a day while at home and 16+ while out of the country for business.. sure the money is good but not a whole lot of time to live outside of working.

hobbies cost money, brah
but ideally you try to find a job doing what you love. I'm a mechanical engineer, always working on automation fixtures and designing new products, half the time behind a desk and the other half doing hands on prototyping in the machine shop. It's something I'd be doing anyway but I'm getting paid
Also, the "free spirit" schtick works when you're younger, but as time goes by it gets more and more pathetic, you need to have some kind of financial stability.Last edited by pchopper; 01-03-2009 at 03:08 PM.
