Deads and squats on the same day? Boy you crazy!!!
I wouldn't do them on the same day, but if I did. One week would be squats first, the next would be deads first.*Professional comic book geek* *semi-pro cartoon collector* *full time nerd*

Nothing wrong with doing both on the same day. Most don't like doing it together, because they are so tough. Also one leaves you weak for the other.
I would suggest alternating them. How you alternate is up to you. Either just from workout to workout, alternate which one goes first, or you can choose to do only one each workout, and alternate every workout.-

I do em together, I dont see what the big deal is really. I do 10x10 squats, start with 135 and work my way up to 185-195 (today, 205). Then my deadlift is around 135-145. If I don't do them on the same day, I can't do anything on the next day. I can get away with this cuz the weight is soooo light I guess. My legs are sore for a good 4 days after I work them out...my lower back for about the same after deads...I feel like I'm more effected by doing them on seperate days than on the same, in terms of performance.
I do deads last, feels so ridiculous leaving after deads.

whichever you do first is up to you, but I do suggest if you are really weak in one of them then you should start with that one first as you can generate more power at the start as both exercises utilise over 90% of your body.Self improvement is masturbation.

i do them the same day
5x5-8 on squat going as heavy as possible
then 4x2-12 on deadlift...
i can still pull up 415 on dead after doing 5 sets of heavy squat
I do them together now because i use to do deads on tuesday and squat of thursday and i would be sore as hell in the leg come squat time so i couldnt improve my squat as much as i wanted!

.
When i did Squats and dead lifts on the same day i would have awesome results. I always did squats first, then deadlifts at the end of my entire leg work out. I always did 4 sets 5-8 reps with heavy weight, and the same with squats, then i do higher reps 10-12 for the rest of my leg day. From my picture you would probably not want to listen to me, but if you check out my older pics i was in good shape, and it took me only 2 and a half months to get there from about where im starting now.

deadlifts, done properly take so much out of your CNS that you'll necessarily have a crappy squat session if you do them in that order.
squats while taxing aren't quite as taxing as deads, so you can squat and pull in that order and get decent work done on both.
after all at a powerlifting meet you squat then bench then deadlift and I expect to PR in all three lifts.*Mods/CS will not, nor can they change your username, so don't ask*

I am not much into doing big compound movements all in the same day but if I was to do them it would def be squats followed by deads. Because I love doing squats and deadlifts so much I like to do them both so I tend to keep them far apart Mon Squats and Thur Deadlifts.....that gives my lower back proper time to recover inbetween time doing them.
I know, that I will always continue to grow, long as I lead and never follow no one else's shadow
