    Question Dumbbell Fly help

Ok, so i've been doing dumbbell flys with 25's, and i keep my arms straight out, elbows not bent at all. But i don't really feel it afterwards too much.

Is it better to continue with a weight i can keep my arms straight out with, or should i up the weight and bring my elbows in a bit? I see alot of guys using like 35/40lbs, but their arms are nowhere near extended.

I thought arms straight out would be better, but i'm just not sure which way would be more beneficial.

Are you supposed to have your arms straight out? I always thought they are supposed to be bent.

they are supposed to be bent a little. you might hurt yourself going all the way out with your arms straight, with heavier weights it's a bad idea.

Your arms are supposed to be bent from just a little bit all the way to a 90 degree angle, depending on what you want to do.

They are supposed to be bent, my friend tried to convince me otherwise thinking he was all right and saying do them with arms straight or dont do them at all cause thats the proper form. Well I tried that with what I worked out with or even less and pulled my right shoulder. And my friend wonders why his arms are huge and has NO chest.

Listen to everyone above; they should remain slightly bent.
I too used to keep them straight out. Bad idea!
