In my upper abs, just below my sternum, hurts like a bastard whenever I do pull ups.
Normal? Worrisome?

It's definately not normal man. When in the pull up position, it pulls the spine into spinal extension which stretches and elongates the abdominal wall.
Has it always hurt like this?

I've never experienced any kind of pain in that area while doing pull-ups, so in my experience it wouldn't be deemed "normal".Originally Posted by JibJab

"Sore" = Possibly normal, although not really for the specific description you provided
