I read that before each workout Dorian would map out his workout and "check in" with his body. If he wasn't feeling energized and ready to give it 100% he wouldn't train that day. So no weaksauce from you, it was probably a smart move.

Who notices such things???
I watched a vid of Kai Greene on bb.com and he took the majority of the day to get ready for a training session. I'm not going through that meta psychological b.s he does. I figure if it ain't here after all the preperation than it ain't there and insistance on training when it ain't there leads to injuries.
Thanks!

Ripped through it like a hot knife through butta.
DOMS all over forced me to focus on the MMC connection with delts.
Not much excitement. This is part of the grind.
Although I did meet an old friend at the gym...an old nasty friend.

I wanted to lift some heavy sh*t today but the bod wasn't in the mood. I have taken the next few days off of work and prefer to lift my heavy sh*t then when I'm healed and rested.
So today I went for an impromptu session of arms which I need to bring up.
Tricep cable Pressdown, anrrow grip
20x100
10x10x150(stack)
supinated DB Curl
10x25
5 sets of 10 x30 lbs.--I did not want my biceps sore for back day tomorrow
1 arm Pressdowns- left arm only
15x60, 12x80, 8x100, 8x100, 7x100

Back, thickness
GVT- modified
Lots of warming up. I've got to take care of this back injury so it doesn't get me in a wheel chair when I turn 50.
lat station Hyper Extensions
20x100, 20x100, 15x140, 3x180-I found my GVT weight, no sense in wasting energy with 180
10x10x200
+20 from last session
seated cable Row
10x10x170
+10 lbs. from last session
10x10x200 and 10x10x170 don't look epic but let's do the math
10x10x200 = 20,000 lbs.
10x10x170 = 17,000 lbs.
+
= 37,000 lbs. without warm ups sets
And that's only 1/2 my back training.
I had to do the math as I was getting a little frustrated seeing people lift what I used to, getting all psyched up, and I was/am missing the rush. Including reading the bb.com journals.
A quick glance at my old journal last year in October had me at a 1/3 of that weight for ALL of my back training.
I'm going to go out on a limb and make a theory here...bodybuilders are like runners...there are 2 types...the sprinters and the marathoners.
I used to sprint and made some damn good gains.
Now it appears I'm a marathoner and have made/am making some damn good gains but without the added risk of injury. But at the expense of "glory", or PR's in our language.
And I've gotta be good with that.
I have to accept the fact I set my PR's in my 20's and early 30's when I was fat and cranked on epehedrine. Without focussed strength training I'm never going to get that back...but that type of training is almost paradoxical as to what I need right now.

Back, width
GVT- modified
assisted wide grip Pull Ups
-so I get the name of this exercise corrrect, these are done with my knuckles facing me and that would make them a pull up vs a chin up where the plams face together? aminamingitrite?
10x-120, 10x-100, 10x-100, 10x-80-no way I'm getting 10x10 with -80
10x10x-100
We shall assume I weigh 230 now, and that's over estimating. That would = 130 lbs. lifted per rep
10x10x130= 11,300
narrow grip EZ bar kneeling Pulldowns
I'm repping the stack, the stack is too light, cannot add weight, must add reps.
10x20x150(stack)
10x20x150= 30,000 lbs.
11,300
+30,000
41,300 lbs, total for today excluding warm ups.
37,000
41,300
78,300 total poundages lifter over 2 days for back.

As I told my mother the night before…I need my gym fix today.
I hate this damn gym. Within walking distance from my mother’s place and that’s why I go but the set up is horrible and the people are not serious training friendly.
But the chicks do have some stellar asses.
I want my arms bigger before dieting so I’ll train ‘em every chance I get just like I did legs for years.
As for me throwing in delts…you’re side delts can never be too big for a bb’ing stage.
Side Delts, Arms
GVT- modified
New gym, new equipment, old weight used as a reference point from back home is utterly useless now.
Side DB Raise

Incline bench side DB raise—old school exercise
20x20, 10x25
10x10x30
3,000 lbs.
Tricep cable Pressdown
20x37.5, 20x37.5
10x10x57.5
5,750 lbs.
Standing simultaneous supinated DB Curl
10x10x30
3,000 lbs.
15 min. Stationary bike
6,000 lbs. for arms.

108,000 lbs.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
December 28, 2011
I left Winnipeg early in the A.M and by the time I got home I needed a short nap to get my bearings.
That did not work.
I felt “WEIRD” today…neither good nor bad just WEIRD. Could be from jetlag or the altitude change.
There was nothing pre-training that would indicate it would become as epic to me as it did.
Legs
GVT – now introduced to leg training
Leg Press, PWO
25x180, 20x270, 20x360, 10x450, 10x540, 10x630
10x10x720
72,000 lbs.
Leg press Calf Raise, PWO
10x10x720
72,000 lbs.
Icarian “Power Squat”, PWO
5x10x720(max weight that can be added)
36,000 lbs.
-I had a few people gawk and 3 came up to me asking me how much weight that was, complimenting me yadda yadda yadda.
By the time the 3rd person came up to me and before they could open their mouth I said 720 lbs. in the middle of my set.
She (actually a PT @ my gym) continued to try and talk to me during the set.
She was young, hot, and blonde.
I ignored her.
Talking and training don’t mix, I don’t care how long I’ve been single.
72,000
+36,000
108,000 lbs. not including calf work.
10 of these and that’s over a million lbs. for legs.
In the words of General Douglas MacArthur…
“I have returned”.

Sooner or later, everyone who sticks around for years will come to this conclusion.
PRs are certainly nice, and they sure can stroke the ego, but as we get more......."seasoned"...............is the risk:benefit ratio worth it?
QFT. Delts are a difficult area for natties to improve. No brain, no gain.

I hope you enjoyed the holiday with your mother and Happy New Year. The volume is almost dizzying. As far as progression, is most of your progression based on total poundage lifted, and what format or what do you include in that total poundage?
EDIT... Almost forgot to leave eye candy. Here, have some skittles.
