Thanks for the positive comment Flynn!! I appreciate it!!
Thats one thing that I try to strive on is controlled movements.
Just don't pay too close attention when I try to curl some heavy weight at times though.
My last bench press competition in 2004 the announcer said after each of my lifts "yet again done with perfect form" made me feel good. Sure I was not the strongest out of all the competitors but I was second strongest in my class.
*************************
Today I did some leg extensions and curls. NO pain in the knees. YEEEHAAA!
Seated calf raises.
So watch out next leg day weights. The Carlman is back for the attack!!!
Note to self: be more aware of things on the steps... Damn kids.

Thanks Powerliftin Penny.
Funny you ask because I have been doing chest/biceps and back/triceps for many years. I love doing it that way. I have been thinking lately of breaking my split up into a 5 day:
chest
back
bi's/tri's
shoulders/traps
LEGS
Maybe next week I will start it for a couple months?
Since you asked and I wrote it out I think it will be a good change...
Thanks. Weird how a spontanious question can spark up something good.
************* Today was Back and Biceps **************

Hey Thief!
-popcorn is low fat, its all good
Nice training bro! (finally!)
Have you ever had issues with the rotator cuff from behind the neck pulldowns?
-
06-12-2008, 06:02 AM #851
I can say I have never had any issues.
What I do is sit facing away from the stack of weights and use a weight that is done for higher reps. I hook my feet under the seat to stay down. Most machines are set up to do pulls to the front.
As long as you don't lean forward toward the stack of weights while pulling down (on machines with a boom that sticks out farther, you can face the stack of weights) there should be no issues. Straight up and down movement with the bar. I hope that I explained clearly.
I will not use heavy weights with this exercise.
I DO believe it is a necessary exercise for back. Many will not agree due to the question that you asked me.
As long as you train smart there should be no problems in my opinion.Every day counts.

Hey Carl,
Nice to see you hard at it again. The 5x5 is working out pretty good so far. The incline presses will be tough in a couple of weeks.
Nice to see you back Hibby. My current log

5 day split is cool
Your workouts are looking really strong. I started a 5 day split and had one bad day where my workout was incomplete. I'm hitting legs on day one. I see chest is your focus on day one...Is that your primary muscle group you want to explode with growth? Just curious...

OK I am sucking back my tears now.
Thanks Di!
And it feels great to be back at it hard and heavy.
So you are liking the 5x5?
I switch it up on the military presses. So yes i do both ways.
So how was the vacation? Thanks for stopping by!
Actually it's my legs that i am trying to get bigger more than any other body part. I have always been strong for my bodyweight in bench press though.
It's because i use to compete in a lot of bench press competitions.

You used to do powerlifting comps too?
Have you done all your show preps yourself? Any hired anybody or followed a particular program?
Excellent workout Carl!

I really won't know how I will like the 5x5 for a little while longer. I am still below my maxes for 2 more weeks. I don't know how it will work while I'm trying to drop 10# at the same time. Time will tell.

Yup, mainly through 1989 to 1996 then 2002-2004. Then I totally dedicated all my time to just getting my diet down for bodybuilding. With the exception of 2004 when I did both within a couple weeks of each other. the powerlifting meet was two weeks before the bodybuilding show.
I never had a trainer or nutritionalist. Everything I learned is from magazines, books and intertetz
Hey gurl!!!
Hell thats what a vacation is for. If you ask me. I never set foot in a gym during vacations.
Cool man keep me updated.
THANX!!!!!!!!!!
Glad it motivated you...
