Thank you guys. Im pushing hard each week. I cant wait to start a strength progression but im just kind of riding out the gains on a basic upper lower split with some instinctive mndset with the periodization. I would like to run a routine like sheiko but I really hate training less than 5x per week right now, it just feels good how it is.
If I get to do a little practice meet with a bunch of guys this weekend I am hoping to hit atleast a 1600 raw total. Belt and wraps only, and then the maxing will be done for a while to focus on bodybuilding and using the strength for growing.
Tonight is heavy lower but I probably wont go very heavy to recover ok with the practice meet.

My Wal Mart pulled through for once and got the RVC pop tarts, and they are probably one of my favorite right now, especially when they are toasted. They are good and hit the spot for some PR's like tonights workout that I had. It was an easy PR but I was feeling off big time tonight so I did not push it very much.

So tonight was the first off off night I have had in around 2 months, but I still hit a personal record. The bench felt awkward, my arms pumped real quick, my wrists felt very unflexible, bench at the new gym felt way weird....I tried 380 (my projected max) after I pr'd with 365, but it only went halfway and I stalled. It was an off day, I do not think 365 was my true limit, but today was not the today to test it, and I should have listened to myself.

Ive always been able to squat around 300 lbs when I first started lifting. I am sure you work harder for your progress than what mine has been, I just have a small natural talent for squatting. If I squat, I just progress. Thanks again man, trying to train hard, have fun, and motivate some people to work hard for things that are possible.Team Norton

I didnt get a pop tart before this session, prob reason for no reaching goals, but had one after and felt awesome. The power of the tarts!!!
YES SIR...You need to find apple muffin, they are in a top 3 for me.
Lol I need to cut the max effort lifting below 5 reps for a long while to build more size than strength. Sometimes it just gets so fun hit singles and doubles.Team Norton

The power of Red Velvet Poptarts has suddenly been demonstrated. Great stuff and solid PR and it definitely looked like you coulda gone a little heavier.

So the Personal record I hit tonight was from around 2008, when I quit doing shoulders altogether. I now want to get huge, and I dont neglect anything just because the muscle is more pronounced.
Thanks broseph..STick around, I am taking things to another level once I put another plan together.
Those pop tarts are prob top 2, maybe tied 1 spot..So hard of a choice!!!
Awesome, I will stop by and chat for a bit. I will check the log out for sure. I have always wanted to work booths myself, so lucky you get to bro.
That burger looks awesome, Columbus has a deli sandwhich challenge, i guess I am just getting the two mixed up. I am game to go with you to see who can eat it all first haha.Last edited by Frankdaddy; 01-11-2013 at 06:53 PM.

Exactly! Some days are hard to get going, but I ove this on a personal level.
Thanks man, I am glad some people do. I love tracking things and I always look back at prior training techniques that developed my best strength/size gains. Keep reading because I love logging, even if I don't track some cardio, arm days, sexual encounters,etc... LOl

Good eats will be had by all. It'll be a good time. I'll be there late Wed night.
And wow... really strong pulling. You always pull in socks? I've been squatting in socks and love it so much better than shoes. Wandering if it would correlate to deads as well? Hmm.Magnum Nutraceuticals BB.com Forum Manager & Lead Sales Representative

No extra gains tonights workout, getting really tight lately. I just moved into my house this past week and I have been adjusting moving in with Lyndsey and a new place. Gains do not roll forever, and the rebound has been nice. On that note I need to start a good routine to build strength on a real level rather than post contest rebound and gaining a lot of weight.

Also hit up some arm exercises for teh Pumpz!!! Going to bring things to another level soon, do not doubt it because I hit every goal and beyond from day 1 in this journal with my goals posted.
I want that new 100lb barrier. It takes forver for me to break it, but if I can get to 700 before summer it will be the shortest time i've taken to that next 100lb level. I remember in 2007 I deadlift 450 and it took me until Summer 2008 do 510, then I done 540 2 weeks after, and then 600 2 years later (few diets later, haha) SO it would be nice to hit 700 in little over 1 year since I done 600.
Yes sir, I cannot wait!!!
Yes I always pull in socks, its comfy for me. I hate putting on chucks because my feet are too wide and makes hard to get on. I enjoy squats without shoes also but I got the adidas for Christmas, and I gotta use them bad boys
Anything but chucks, flat foot, or ballerina slippers on deadlifts is unacceptableTeam Norton

440 is still great. When I did 440+ I was 178 in my powerlifting weight class, then I came back and done 500 in the 181's at some point to reach that barrier at 181. Honestly I think it's just the bodyweight that I respond well to. I think I have a lot of lean mass built up offseason, but I lose a lot while dieting, and then getting to a certain point.
On the deadlift thing, 700 I can feel....I just have to pay attention to not getting hurt, which is why it has taken me so long to get here, i've had 3 good setbacks deadlifting!!!Team Norton

Went in for a lower power session, didnt plan on going real hard, but strength just feels good so I keep going. It is 100% about time for some recovery techniques like a REAL deload, and or a lot more stretching/foam rolling. Moving into my new place has gotten me out of whack on that stuff. I wish I would have video this session, but i'll beat it someday

I moved actually just 1/2 mile away from my house where I lived with my parents. It's a strange feeling, but it's okay so far. I will post some pictures when it quits raining and looking messy. I still have to clean a few things where we have been remodeling it for the past 6 months.Team Norton
