As usual the ignorant a-holes at my gym continue to leave all bars/machines loaded up with plates. In the rack next to me was a bar on the safeties with 335 loaded up.
Noob comes up and starts clearing it off to do whatever. But he's only taking the plates off one side. Bad idea. So he's cleared all but one 45 off one side and there is still 3 plates and change on the other side. I see him walk up and start taking the last plate off on the one side.
I yelled over to him "don't take that plate off!" and he looks over all confused "Huh?"
I said "If you take that plate off the bar is going to tip and you'll likely catch the end of it on your chin"
He looks around and finally gets it and says "oh. yeah. thanks."
My good deed for the day.

And speaking of which; the PT that gave me **** about the chalk was there today with a client; also leaving plates on equipment.
I think if you're going to try to enforce the rules you'd better abide by them, and if that skinny non-lifting goof ever says anything to me again, I will tell him exactly that.Insta: flexjs

I mentioned it in my own journal a while back now, but one day I head to my dungeon and proceed to my customary power rack. I get to it and it is filled with all manner of God-forsaken crap, ranging from a yoga mat, to a weeble-wobbles ball, two DBs, a half-consumed beverage of some type, a 2-ft stand, some hand-written notes, some used wipes, etc., etc.
I ask the people who were at least nearby what the deal was with this, and noone knew whose crap this was. I wait a little bit to see if this culprit shows up, then I just start moving all the sh*t out of it so some real work could be done.
About the time I am done moving all this crap out of my way, this "trainer" comes running up. He proclaims it as his stuff and that he set it all up and then left to go take a shower.
Enter BertStare.jpg.
"Is this the new policy now?" I ask. "I can just set up all my crap and then leave to do my godd*amn grocery shopping and then come back?"
[i]Sigh[i].
Yeah, I share your sentiments about that.

I've seen that happen before it was hilarious...granted nobody got hurt....but I'm in the rack next to it doing power cleans....they start taking the weight off the squat rack and next thing I see is a bar flung like a catapult knocked everything over it was so loud...about 30 seconds after that you could hear a pin drop everyone was staring and not moving.

LOL! Believe it or not some idiot was unloading a fully loaded leg press the same way. We heard a loud bunch of thuds and clanks from the break room and ran out. When we arrived on the scene and saw what happened, we could barely contain our laughter.
And no, the leg press was NOT bolted down light it should have been.Sept of Baelor was an inside job. Wildfire can't melt stone masonry.

LMAO
Two 45's CAN, but if you're smart you can get away with it. If you pull the bar so the collar of the side with the two plates is right against the rack then usually there is not enough leverage to tip the bar. But if it's the other way (collar of empty side is against the rack) then even two plates can tip the bar.
Physics man; you can't out-train it.Insta: flexjs
