    female personal question: need help!

this is a bit personal, but i am thinking that this condition is caused by lifting heavy weights.
I have vaginal leakage that has gotten worse recently. It has no odor or itching, but it gets to a point to where my underwear gets soaked and it VERY uncomfortable.
I work out 5 times a week and do cardio and weight training all 5 days. I am 25 with no children and my doctor says (after several tests) that I might have diabetes. But i wanted to ask the other women bodybuilders out there if they have the same issue and if so what should be done to resolve.
There is no way I have diabetes because I am very healthy and I eat very healthy too. I dont want to keep wasting my $$ on the doctor because I think this issue might have to do with the strain we women put on our bodies by constantley lifting very heavy weight.

    Ladies, please help! S.O.S.

Discharge is very normal. As you go through your cycle, the discharge will change in color, texture, and volume. When it is clear and watery, you are either ovulating or close to it. When it is clean and thin, it is best suited for sperm to travel in. As progesterine levels increase after ovulation, the discharge becomes thicker and can appear to be white or slightly yellowish.

It's very normal though, so don't worry

Interesting that you are having this problem... I got my first depo injection in August. I started working out in September (heavy lifting 4x weekly with cardio x5). My second depo injection was mid-November. The whole point is to lose my periods. But, today, I started having my period again (right in the middle of my cardio training)! ARGH!

Has this happened to anyone else?

SOMETIMES it can take a while of being on the Depo before you'll quit having periods. There has been A LOT of bad stories about Depo though.

Read this. You may want to reconsider??

i can't answer your question but with reference to diabetes. Not only unhealthy people get it. There are different types and if your family also has a history then it's possible. Juvenile (type 1) diabetes has nothing to do with being unhealthy, it is just a condition due to the pancreas not producing enough insulin, and it can happen in the healthiest of people, and it occurs in people below 30 years old. So get blood tests.

The only discharge you need to worry about is if it becomes very foul smelling (often described as "fishy") or if it turns a greenish color.

Your hormone levels will be the biggest factor with this, so birth control MIGHT make a difference.

Only advice I have is to stay stocked up on pantyliners Oh, the joys of womanhood!!!

You can still get diabetes while eating healthy and being healthy. Some folks are predisposed towards it. The doctor said you may have it after you had tests-- this should tell you something. Diabetes, while more common in overweight people, isn't necessarily an "overweight disease."

I'd get the diagnosis confirmed or rejected right away. Why is he saying "might have" anyway after taking tests-- did he or did he not give you a glucose tolerance test to find out?!

As for discharge- meh. Never had more due to working out (although I'll sweat like a horse in that region, though, while working out. embarassment!). Id try panty shields if it's making you uncomfortable. If no itching, color or smell, it shouldn't be a problem...

Go check for diabetes. It's a simple procedure, as far as I remember all you gotta do is have blood drawn. Hopefully it's not that, but if it is, you wanna know ASAP so you can manage it successfully!

Aye, please get checked for diabetes. I am EXTRMELY healthy and very anal about what I eat. Regardless of that, I got gestational diabetes and I was the ONLY ONE they had who ended up on 50 units of insulin injections.

In fact, all the unhealthy people were able to control it with diet and exercise, I was the healthy one and couldn't control it that way... my diet and exercise were already spot on, so I had nowhere to go!

I was resentful of the very idea and I hated taking insulin. I felt like my body had betrayed me even though i'd taken such good care of it in the past years.

At the end of the day, that didn't matter. I had to do what I had to do, no matter how I felt about it. The same goes for you... you may feel like the doctor has to be wrong because you're so careful, but you could very well be totally incorrect.

    Red face

Hey there. I've been having the same issue lately. I thought it was due to
regular old stress -- Also, like you, I thought the problem might be due to the extra strain from the weights. My Doc thinks it might be a 'pollop' in the uterus. Completely harmless, but could cause strange bleeding etc.

The best way to find out is to have an ultrasound -- I'm in the process.
It could also be hormone related apparently -- the Doc also suggested, if the issue is NOT a pollop, to try birth control pills to regulate things .. we'll see what happens.

    Hope that helps.
    Cheers,

every woman is different and so the amount of discharge that we experience will vary -if you are unsure why don't you seek a second opinion, assuming that the diabetes test comes back normal?
Also for the time being you can try wearing a panty liner which would alow you to change it/ take it off if you start to feel uncomfortable.

I'm curious to know why he would think it was linked to diabetes. It could be cervical fluid, it could be urine, it could be sweat. Definitely get a diabetes test, make sure that you do kegels regularly and other than that....chalk it up to womanhood.

See your OBGYN. Bacterial Infections such as Bacterial Vaginosis don't always have odor or odd coloring. Many times they come from unprotected or even protected sex due to an imbalance in your PH level around your cervix. Simple creams through your OB's RX will do it. See your doc.

It could be 'thrush' otherwise known as Candida. Sometimes it's white and lumpy like yoghurt and sometimes watery. It does not always cause irritation and is common in women with diabetes, which is why your doctor probably suspected this might be the cause. I assume he tested you for blood sugar?

Treatment with anti-fungicidal suppositories and tablets can take ages and it can become persistent. Daily vaginal douching with WATER ONLY helps to keep you dry and fresh.
