yep. the vegetarian cheese omelet is HORRID. just the smell of it is God-awful. the best ones are the Vegetable Manacotti, Chicken Tettrazinni, and Beef Enchilada.

If I get a chocolate dairy shake or a cocoa mix, I take it and put peanut butter in it, add a little water and mix it up. it tastes so good.

I do gotta add that some of the MRE's ive eaten might taste better if I could use the heater to eat them. my platoon isn't allowed to use the heaters. our drill sergeants say its a "crutch" and that the food tastes the same cold lol.

I could count on one hand the amount of times i have used a heater for the mre's. I usually just take the pouches of food out and carry a couple of those, instead of carry all the other useless stuff. I.E. The cardboard boxes it comes in. It saves room and weight.

I just love hearing people talk about what they simply can't eat - it reminds me of how FOS most of the population is. I always reply the same - one week without food and you would gladly kill for that **** you claim you can't eat.

the navy is all about chow, heaven forbid a sailor misses a meal, you'll never hear the end of it. they'll be in general quarters and still get a box chow...

we had the option to buy it on occassion. i never got one though. high fructose corn syrup and heavy physical training don't mix
