    Not really, Cholesterol levels drop while in ketosis. And yes, you need carbs the secret to a good Keto diet is on the kind of carbs you eat, you'll eat plenty of fruit - a good source of carbs and fiber. Other carbs should come from cereals like rice, oatmeal; grains like lentils and beans; and seeds (which are fat and protein rich, but also have carbs to burn.) Getting on a Ketogenic diet actually offers more benefits than not. And eliminating all kind of simple carbs like those in pasta, bread (any kind),tortillas and any kind of sugar but stevia, honey or raw molasses (all in small proportions).
