How long does it take for calories to show effect

i am bulkin and bulkin just fine im just wondering how long it takes for the calories to show their effects in ur wieght. i no it depends on metabolism but a normal metabolism how long would it take

I don't know if I fully understand the question but i'll give it a go....I think your asking bascially how long would it take for you to gain a pound.

So lets lets just say you take 500 cals over maintenece for a week, you should gain 1lb in that week since 3500 cals = 1 lb.

If you eat something the nutritients from it goes to work right away.

so ur saying if i eat 3500 a day when my normal diet is say 2000 i should gain about a half a pound give or take in a weeks's time or a day or what? that is the question how much time does it take

Ok, this is interesting. I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say two weeks. It sounds about right. I'm sure most people will notice results withing two weeks of significantly changing their diets.

It takes an extra 3500 calories to gain one pound.
So if you eat an extra 500 calories a day, you will gain one pound a week. Eat an extra 1000 calories a day, you will gain two pounds a week. Eat an extra 1500 calories a day, you will gain 3 pounds a week. Understand?

i get the 3500cal=1pound but ur saying in a week's time. is that how long it would take for it 2 i guess fully digest and acually put on the weight. i see 2 weeks 1 week blah

your body has a calorie maintenence level, say its 3000 calories. If you go over that, 500 over to 3500, the other 500 calories arent being used (this is assuming your not doing cardio and stuff). So where does it go? fat. 7x500=2500=1lb per week.

no not fully digest. Im not sure how long digestion takes but im sure a couple hours would do the trick. The reason it takes a week is because each day u have a certain amount of calories u burn off and a certain amount u take in, so its kinda like leftover calories that add up and make that 1 pound the next week(that is if u eat more then u burn, would be then other way around if u were trying to lose the 1 pound).
